It was dark and in an unsavory part of town, and today it is raining real hard so I have not had a chance to look it over closely, but from what I could tell by a quick flashlight exam it look pretty nice: -'86 (Mk I, NA) -Ground effects/spoiler -Red -Sunroof -Michelins w/ a decent amount of tread -Factory Alloys -Possibly a new muffler -Interior looks good from what I could tell (need to get new batteries for that d*mn flashlight :)) AND - 53K miles! It looks like it has been garaged, the plastic ground effects parts look almost new - my poor Red '89 was crying while parked next to it. The paint is in good to very good shape - which is very good for a Red '86 (another comment about my '89 is not warranted ;)) Of course the mechanicals are the most important part, which I have yet to get a look at - perhaps monday. But I am doing my homework. Autovantage lists these numbers for this car: POOR GOOD EXCELLENT Wholesale $1850 $2250 $2625 Retail $3175 $3650 $4100 Anyone want to tell me what they think, assuming the mechanicals check out? The "sticker" is $5K. [Total off the cuff comment - since it looks like it had a new exhaust (unconfirmed in daylight), and such low milage, and appears to have been garaged, combined with what looks to be a fine, nonsmoker interior, I would bet this was someones car they only took to the grocery store now and then (the short trips eat the exhaust system)] Please send me email directly, if you respond to the list, as I get the digested (burp), version of this so I won't see your answers till after I go to the dealer. Thanks!!! Mark. Looking for MR2 number 4!!!!!!! - -- Mark T. Extrude Honing involves running an abrasive putty through the manifolds at high pressure. This in turn removes only the restrictive points and streamlines the ports. It also balances the CFMs between ports. Actually, they've been pretty competive with my crew, Cyber Racing, but we have good relations. Geez... you think 20 psi is high? I guess you haven't been around any serious MR2s. I was also at that Import Drag Race (aka Battle of the Imports). Turnout for racers was in the hundreds. Spectators in the 10,000s. I guess it's your opinion that straight line racing is boring. Just keep in mind that we're the crowd that really builds our motors to the extreme and enjoy it. And yes, our cars are VERY streetable. Also, most of these guys also compete at Willow Springs, so straight line is just another event. No.... I don't have a 3SGTE in my car, but I build and program aftermarket EFIs part-time. I've seen the worst case scenerios on these motors. Gerald San Agustin 88 Twincharger <--- 4AGZTE Cyber Racing, Southern California ------------------------------ End of mr2-digest V1 #29
