The list does have an FAQ. If you're new to the list, please read it, it may have the answer you're looking for, and that'll save some email traffic. It covers a lot of details on differences from model year to model year, Did the car get killed for 96 or not, How to get those fog lights to work the way you want them to, where the heck -is- that noise coming from... Probably not 100% accurate, but it's at least close, and certainly better than nothing. The FAQ is updated by me from time to time and the web site always has the most recent version. - -mike +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | mikep@diane.csg.mot.com | Email to mr2_faq_request@diane.csg.mot.com | +--------------------------+ with subject "FAQ" for a copy of the most recent| |1993 MR2Turbo #223 FRINGE1| MR2 FAQ. Another important factor in my test is that I am no longer using the factory ECU for engine management. Even if these wires work on my engine, I wouldn't know how it would affect a stock setup. I guess the only real test would be for someone to actually try it and let us all know. A few years back, when I was still using the stock ECU and and HKS F-CON, the Jacobs wires (which have approx. 100 ohms/ft) did not radiate any RFI/EMI. As far as being universal, that's how mine is setup anyways (I don't have a distributor). That's great that Magnecore can assemble a factory-like boot. Actually, I made my own using Jacobs wire parts from a 2TC. Moisture is apparently entering the rubber boot at the e-brake sleeve near the right rear brake caliper and freezing onto the cable. I haven't been using the e-brake below 32F. Someone mentioned that it could be the pivot arm on the e-brake seizing, however I don't believe this is the cause since this only occurs at cold temperatures. I will try replacing the rubber boot on the end of the e-brake cable when I get the chance. Mark '91 MKII turbo t-top red 145 K miles Mark Shehan - Ford EV P/T Engrg.,Village Plaza,23400 Mich. A couple of folks have written back stating that the small u-shaped tube protruding from the bottom of the engine/trans ensemble is in fact a cooler (or placeholder for one) for the manual-transmission gear oil. This begs a follow-on question: What causes the circulation? Is there a transmission-oil pump? Has anyone on this list ever torn-down the limited-slip-5-speed transaxle? What feeds that little cooling tube? thanks, Bob ------------------------------ From: uunet!ukonline.co.uk!david.cole Date: Fri, 1 Dec 1995 20:03:17 GMT Subject: digest v1#47 Could you send V1 #47 again? I went down to Toyota, and have been told that it's definetely not a cat!! (It's just in the same position as a Mk1 with a cat!) So I'm ready for the extra 5 horses. Any suggestions for dumping the tiny box? I was thinking of maybe using some of that flex hosing (is that the same as the braided hose that I've used for brake lines?) - if I can get my hands on any. But what would I have to do about the flanges? Thanks Dave Cole. These things lit up the world much better than the old 55W jobs I have "semi-sealed beams". Did you just use your standard headlight shell, and put in a 80/100W halogen bulb? Our tailpipe tips are brushed stainless. >> I'm a little confused on the production numbers vs. the vehicle number. >>SNIP<< Does anyone understand those? My 1993 T is number 105 [stuff deleted] where is this number (105) found? if it is the bottom number on the door sticker, my 93NA is no. 058 made in 8/92 ... >>SNIP<< Our '95 door sticker says: Manufactured by TMC 10/94 then lists the GVW on each axle; detail about complying with safety and bumper regulations in effect in Oct 94; then lists the following gibberish: C/TR: 040/LA02 MODEL SW20L-AJMZZA A/TM: -735/E153 MADE IN JAPAN NO. 503 I thought I remembered seeing, on a WWW site somewhere, an explaination of each of the components of the Serial Number... but when I just now went to look on the MR2 site, I couldn't find it. (Maybe I'm remembering something on the Harley site and am confused.) So, as far as I can tell, I have a '95 MR2 Turbo, built in October of 1994.
