I'll build that TT Lexus with a Supra engine in it..!! Brad Since a 5S-FE engine is in the 4 cylinder Camry, maybe the Camry V6 will fit in a MKII NA. Hello, I am faced with the replacement of a head gasket seal on my 91 MR2 turbo and will be taking a hard look at the valve-train to see how my engine wear looks (the car had almost 70k miles on the clock when I got it. Who knows what my car has been through!) This has raised the question of what fun things to do when rebuilding. I am considering running a slightly higher compression ratio on my pistons and switching to less pressure higher volume turbo to acomplish better low end torque and better top end power. What is the compression of the standard 3SGE engine? Anyone tried swappping tose pistons into a turbo application and if not does anyone know why this would be impossible? Also anyone that has gone with aftermarket pistons, what specs have you run and with what results? Any other brilliant ideas? Micropollishing and all manner of porting, ballacing and the like will be in order (hopefully not for many more miles) but I am trying to figure out how much money I will need when the day comes and perhaps start the process now. My dealer handled it under warranty without me even having to ask. I replaced my second one on my own thinking that would solve the tapping noise which was familiar from when the first one broke. This time, it turned out to be the exhaust manifold :( . The first replacement was not reinforced, but the second one was reinforced. Kevin D. Just went to the toy dealer to get a filter, good news: it was the old denso filter, USA, red seal bad news: it cost $7.95, a little steep for a filter! BTW, it isn't very big, 2.575" dia X 3.59" tall, did I read earlier that the new filters are smaller than this? I would be interested in a survey, if everyone on the list called there dealers and asked if the denso brand filter is available, and what a price would be for a couple cases of them, then posted a -short- message to the group, maybe we could get them for a resonable price. In anycase, maybe it would start the dealers asking for the older denso made filter from Toyota. just an idea.... Your right Pete. The original filters I bought from Toyota in 1992 were made in Japan in a white box. They then changed all the parts numbers and were made in the US , also with a white box (I believe somewhere in the 1993 range). It has just been recently that they have gone to the red box with the YZZA extensions. As I told Steve off-line I'm going to cut one of the old US built white box filters open and compare it to one of the new red box filters to see if there is any difference on the inside.
