If it's on the driver side, definately not because it's illegal. The repair I believe is around $50 and leaves an opaque spot. If you replace the entire windshield, it's only around $150 but then you got a new one. I'm not sure which is better (probably leaving the car) but I have my own little procedure that I've been following for the past 7 winters: 1) Clean the car inside and out (including wheels) making sure to thoroughly dry it. 3) Fill, hopefully a nearly empty gas tank with fresh, high octane (93 or higher) gas. I also add dry gas (isopropyl NOT methonal based). Some people like to add gas stabilizer. I've never used it and have had no problems. 3) Change the oil & oil filter (I have been using Mobil 1, 0W-30 for winter storage -- figuring it maybe better for the engine upon startup). 4) Inflate tires to 38 psi or so. The tires will slowly lose air over the winter. I find by spring I need to let out a little air and I'm ready to roll. 5) Connect a trickle charger to the battery. 6) Cover the car with a good, high quality car cover. 7) Every 2 weeks, I (remove the cover and) start the car let the engine warm up for at least 20 minutes. I might also exercise the parking brake, move the car back and forth a couple of times (pretend it's summer while I'm freezing my ***** off!) 8) When spring rolls around I change the oil again (this time I use Mobil 1, 10W-30) and try to keep the boost down until the winter tank of gas is nearly empty. I then refill with 93 octane and go have fun! ************************************************************************ Jim C. How would the VPC be able to change this >and a reprogrammed ECU not? I had only a 30sec or so conversation with Luke, but this is what I gather. For a given voltage from the airflow meter, the injector pulse width can only be lengthened, thus 550's won't work with a stock AFM. However, if you use a modified AFM or VPC, you can have it provide a lower (actually higher) than stock voltage to the ECU for a given airflow, ie tell it 1lb/min rather than 1.5 etc. The maps for lower airflow have lower pulsewidth and so on. Practically speaking, there may be some limit on injector size then as far as the lower limits of the factory map WRT airflow which makes a good argument for a second set of injectors in the runners for high hp apps.
