After you install new belts, it is necessary to tighten them up after a few miles. Think of the belts as rubber bands. If you are constantly stretching the rubber band, it wont go back to its original shape. The belts just need to be checked! I know this and neglected to re-check them before I made a 6 hour trip to my home town in Rochester, NY. I got 50 miles into the trip, threw the belt, and then had to drive back home (NJ). I made it back without the alternator belt but was really pissed! I wanted to show off my 2 to all my friends that I was going to see. If a parts store was open I would have done the road side repair. Oh well. CHECK THE BELT TENSION!!! They use specialized speakers that have 2 mount points but you can use regular speakers, either bend the other tabs back or just cut them off. The best way to go are separate components speakers, but if you are looking at a easier install and a lower budget a 2 or 3 way speaker is ok. There are many good speaker makers out there but for high and mids try using some such as Polk Audio, Infinity.. umm I know theres some more good ones, cant think yet for today.. Personally I wouldnt use 3-way's because they tend not to sound all that great, and its best to have a real driver (speaker) to perform that work, woofer under/behind the seat or in the door. The more you cram into a small speaker the less quality its going to have, thats why I recommend the separates. Then you can also mount the tweeters at locations that will work best for clarity. Or if I would be able to use my 4age >ECU and wire harness on a 4agze late model with crank angle sensor? If not >can I get the ECU reprogrammed to work? This is weird.. I was talking to a friend the other day about this same subject. Yes, you can run the 4AGZE intake manifold on a red hat. All 4AG heads (except for the 20v head) are identical. They all have the same intake ports so manifolds are interchangeable. Even exhaust manifolds. It has been mentioned to the list that the NA ECU will work on the US spec 4AGZE. Although you wont be able to run the NA ECU on a Japan spec 4AGZE with the DIS twincoil system. You might be able to reprogram the NA ECU to accept DIS but it might be cheaper, and better in the long run, to do what Gerald did on his twicharged MK1 and use a TEC-1 to run the DIS. Im not talking about the TEC-11. Im talking about the original TEC system which is nearly identical to the TEC-11 only that it doesn't come with the powerful duel coil direct fire ignition system that the TEC-11 has. The TEC-11 runs for $1300 complete with sensors and software so I would believe that a TEC-1 would cost a lot less. If it turns out to be to expensive then check out some other aftermarket programmable ECUs. Here is a few places you should check out. http://www.sdsefi.com/ http://www.haltech.com.au/ http://www.electromotive-inc.com/ http://www.motec.com/ http://www.efisystems.com/ http://force-efi.com/ The basic SDS ECU should be your best bet for a low cost way to run the twincoils. Im running a TEC-11 on my MK1 that I got second hand for $600. If I didn't happen to find this TEC-11 selling for $600 I would have ran the SDS. It is very easy to set up. It retails for about $700. The Haltech runs for around $1000 and the Accel runs for around $900. Hope this helps.
