Has anyone ever had to replace the emergency brake cable?? while changing out my rear strut cartridges this past weekend, the right rear cable was severed. Now, neither side will engage. I guess its all connected somehow. I have the BGB and I didn't see any reference about the parking brake repair. the cable was severed at the rear brake assembly itself. Is this a difficult repair? Will I have to replace the WHOLE cable from the handle? or is the cable segmented in parts where I can just replace the section that is damaged. On the subject of the Farrell shift boot + the Oellrich SS kit, I found that if I rolled the top opening in on itself, this takes up all the slack which was the problem. Shifts are alot easier now too. I think IMHO the normal wear pattern is the outside corner for the MR2. I know my car corded tires on the outside corner before I changed the aligment. Now with more negative camber on the front, I wear out the fronts more evenly, if not on the inside corner. What we want to accomplish is a change in behavior (not a roast). Give them a chance to redeem themselves. I'm sure Dave would be the first one to tell you that this isn't about donating free things. This is about simple good manners and professional treatment of customers. I would not endorse boycotting a business because they did not want to donate things for free. That is their choice based on knowledge of their business and potential returns. But there is no excuse for treating people poorly and that should never be tolerated. Below is text that has already been prepared if you do not care to write your own. Serves the same purpose, because it says that this story has been communicated to many people and will be continued to be communicated. Dear Miller Toyota, Would you allow your dealership to score negative marks with thousands of potential customers, while your competitors capitalize on the opportunity? Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are the International MR2 Owners Club (IMOC), an Internet based enthusiast group, with over 1000 members. Over time, the IMOC branches have held a number of rallies or get-togethers in various locations, such as North and South California, the Southeast, the Northeast, Texas, etc. The "DC Drive", to be held on March 28, 1998 is by far the biggest event planned by the IMOC, with expected attendance of over 100 MR2s of all vintages from the surrounding areas. Believing this is an excellent exposure opportunity for Toyota, Mr. David Rothrock, of Herndon, member (DC IMOC) and coordinator of the DC MR2 Drive, has been approaching various Toyota dealers in the region asking for support in the form of small and inexpensive promotional articles. This approach has had various degrees of success. Mr. Rothrock's call to Miller Toyota was received in a manner that was not just unprofessional, but downright rude. The person on the telephone indicated, "That is a discontinued car. We would not be interested in anything to do with this event". Notice, please, that news about this attitude has been shared with thousands of potential customers of your parts, service, and sales departments, which at the same time, are foregoing the opportunity for exposure, while your competitors are capitalizing on it. Would you please re-consider your position? Mr. Rothrock can be reached by electronic mail at DRothrock1@aol.com.. Thank you very much for your consideration. Sincerely, International MR2 Owners Club That pretty well sums it up. If each of us will simply send them an e-mail, even if it only says "I heard what kind of customer service you provided to Dave Rothrock, one of our IMOC members. I would be interested in hearing your side. Please feel free to respond to all of us at: mr2-digest@mr2.com" I would love to think that they would get over 1000 e-mails with a subject title "MR2 customer service" before they come back to work on Monday or until they respond back to all of us on the list. Please type to them. Now.
