1999 IMOC Fund Raiser

Over the past few years, the International MR2 Owners Club has grown by leaps and bounds and one of the areas of this growth has been this Web server, MR2.com. Due to this growth, it has become apparent that the IMOC server needed to be upgraded to new machine to allow growth as well as to start paying for all the bandwidth it now uses.

As this site was born out of the idea of sharing information about MR2s and allowing anyone access to this information, it was decided to ask for donations to support the server rather than charge people a fee for access, etc.

Although there was input from many IMOC members on the server upgrade, the first person to help define and work out the details of the new server hardware was our resident MR2 mailing list owner, Andrew Tasi.

The next IMOC member to step up to the plate was David Hawkins who graciously purchased the new server hardware out of his own pocket.

In doing his bit for the fund raiser, IMOC member Rick Perez has taken up the task of contacting some of the aftermarket companies that support the MR2, asking for donations to be used to pay for the server and bandwidth.
