Mon Apr 1 19:39:55 1996 Phil Naut Great site...new owner of a white 92 turbo...most fun car I've driven since my mini-cooper or my friend's wankel 914...lots of great info not available at my "we don't sell them anymore" Toyota dealer...Too bad for them, I would have bought a new 96 if they had them (too bad for us too!) Pictures are fantastic, but are hard to access (too many people trying?) Would like to see more info on wheels/offset/size/manufacturers that work without destroying bearings or fenders. Keep up the great work at this site!

Sat Apr 13 08:42:20 1996 Randy G. Hone On the verge of buying a 1992 MR2, with 90,000 k on it. The dealer is asking $22,900 but willing to deal.. The dealership its at has just put $1000 into it fixing it to sell. The main thing they did was replace the turbo. Isn't turbo failure at such a low mileage point indicative of how the car was maintained or do the turbo units have a high failure rate? The body is in excellent shape, all the features I want, but it has a set of aftermarket wheels and tires on it. Otherwise, it is okay. Comments, anyone? Randy Hone randyho@direct.ca

I have owned this car for 4 years and it is by far the most reliable and enjoyable automobile I have ever owned or driven. Would like to meet/chat with other MR2 owners in the Southeast U.S. I live in suburban Atlanta, GA and welcome comments at my email address
Mon Apr 15 18:31:18 1996 anthony rausch WOW! I can't believe that this exists!! Thank God it does!! I NEED HEEEEEELPP!
Mon Apr 15 22:11:59 1996 Greg Tinius I got mine in February 1991. A 1991 red t-top non-turbo, sitting in the showroom since it was born, 8 miles on the clock. Not a speck of dust, only fingerprints. Brake rotors still scored, exhaust manifold still shiny. If only I'd had the money to buy two, and put one away... Paid it off last month, 34,000 miles later. Everything still totally stock, except for the dust. NO ONE can believe it's five years old. All of my friends know exactly where the cupholders are: back at McDonald's. They're called "tables." When I was young and impressionable, I had always wanted a 911SC. Until I sat in one. Didn't even have to drive it. "Ergonomics" apparently isn't in Porsche's dictionary. Sure, it'll go like stink, but what about the other 99.9965% of the time? There is no other auto interior to compare with the MKII's. Not in any RX-7, not in any 300ZX, not in any Honda. I'm not even going to mention the Fiero. Oops. In case anyone's wondering: AUTOFOM! A protectant as good as our car. (I don't work for them, I've just tried them all.) It's the most durable ever.

Tue Apr 16 20:53:23 1996 Keith H. (Portland, OR) I travel via auto extensively with my job and am curious if an MR2 is the right car for me. I drove a CRX Si for years and the MR2 seems to be a step up. Any thoughts on storage as compared to a CRX? In any event, this is a great web site!

Wed Apr 17 17:07:09 1996 Philip Poon I am driving a 90 Mk II turbo in Auckland New Zealand, with my reg plates personalized 'GUNDAM'. Any idea on modifying my car?
Wed Apr 17 17:40:18 1996 Stephen Darling I own a 1993 MR2 Black and it has been my dream car for many years. I currently have 105,000 kms on my car and have never been more impresseed with the look and style of a vehicle and so unimpressed with the service record. My car has spent more time on the back of towtrucks then my Celica did and I had it to 250,000 kms. Still love it though.

Thu Apr 18 05:19:14 1996 Jeff May Airmont, NY After 10 years and 117,000 miles my 1985, Silver MR2, gave up the ghost. I have repleced it with a 1987, black MR2 with T-roof ( I prefer the design of the old model, especially the interior.). This car has provided me with many hours of driving ejoyment and I expect the new one to carry on the tradition.

Thu Apr 18 18:43:37 1996 Mo Moscovitz I own silver '87 Mk 1 w/T-Tops and black leather interior. I've had it 8 years and am now approaching 180,000 trouble-free miles. I will soon install Intrax springs, and the folks at Tokico are repacing my Illumina shocks free under warranty since I/m the orig owner of them and still have my reciept. I first lowered the car in '90 and have put over 100,000 miles on them. Running 15x7 Momo Arrows which iwill soon replace with Racing Hart Modulars in 16x7. Engine basically stock except HKS cam timimg pulleys and exhaust but am in process of assembling parts for rebuild with goal to make it the best breathing normally aspirated piece out there. I've driven everything from Countachs to F-40s but wouldn't trade the MR2 for anything. It's a keeper. See my ad for Momo wheels for Phone #.
Thu Apr 18 18:54:55 1996 Mo Moscovitz Oops, not sure how to place classified ad. Anyway, the Momos (2 perfect, 2 scuffed slightly) are for sale for $600 w/tires. Also willing to talk Tech w/sincere MR2 owners. 408-476-2557. FAX408-427-2316

Sat Apr 20 12:24:39 1996 Kevin Cooke This site is great. I have a '86 red Mk1. ANSA exhaust, BBS Pininfarina alloys, Koni shocks, Jamex springs, Momo s.wheel. Splitfire plugs and a bolt on filter made a big difference to the performance. Oh, and the front discs are grooved, and the rears are cross-drilled. Engine rebuild is next.

Sat Apr 20 22:04:33 1996 Jake I just wanted to say that I own a 1991 MR2 and I cannot see why anyone would want to buy anything else. Your getting one heck of a nice car for the money. It has great great great looks and it is sooooo fun to drive. In short, I love everything about this car. Thanks for having such a great website dedicated towards this marvel in enginering. Toyota should have never discontinued this car... it's a shame.
Sun Apr 21 01:06:34 1996 Arthur Chandler If I were facing the firing squad and had the choice of either a final feast or a final ride in my MR2.... well, I'd take the ride. Besides, I might get away! :<)

Within the next month I hope to do some pretty extensive mods.Any suggestions?? Please write. I plan on maybe doing the HKS upgrades, but I heard Mr.2 Performance parts is working on a kick-butt oversized pulley for the supercharger. Any info on price and what other mods need to be made to make sure the car doesn't explode with their planned 14lbs of pressure and 240 hp are more than appreciated and strongly desired. See ya on the swervy roads! Drive On.

Tue Apr 23 06:32:21 1996 David Wasserman
Tue Apr 23 12:51:15 1996 Mo Moscovitz Looks like I've found local buyer for the MoMo wheels: A fellow MR2 owner with a gun-metal gray '89. He took the rear wing off and its a cool look when the car is lowered and has the factory aero kick panel pieces. I took mine off yesterday and like the look on my lowered silver '87. Note to Mike Brazell: Dunno if it's a design flaw on the front brakes, but my front rotors tend to warp easily. Will replace w/cross drilled Stillens or units from MR2 Perf. in future. Will soon install Intrax springs and will will let you all know how she sits and rides etc.

Mon Apr 29 12:18:47 1996 Cassandra I recieved a beautiful 1986 medium blue MR2 about a month ago. And, Josh White was right when he said that if you want to own an affordable sports car, it has to be an MR2. Mine cost $3000, and its in pretty good condition. It only has 40,000 miles on it. The owner had to sell it for the money, and she was slightly upset because she lost such a great car. They are the most fun cars to drive...
Mon Apr 29 17:44:26 1996 Alan Helfers Well, another first for Toyota! I've had 4 MR-2 since 1993...Now I finally have the dream machine. A Teal 1993 MR-2 Turbo with every option and the highly desired "limited slip-differential." Love the cars. My first was the Aqua Blue, second was the Crimson Red (Non-turbo)91', the third was Forest Green(Non-Turbo)91' Normally Asperated, and my Fourth! is the Teal Turbo. If You ever get a chance to drive one...don't let the opportunity pass you by. One of slickest, best handling, and overall fun cars to drive in the world as we know.
