I autocross a very stock( except for the rust) 1985 MR2. I used to drive Porsche 911s and I like the handling of the MR2 better.

MR2 MK1's are great fun cars. I have owned them for 5 years after Corolla
Levins and FX-GT's. Currently have a 88 supercharger manual T-top which is
a faster but softer car than the previous 87 non-supercharged. On good rubber
the 87 was a REAL sportscar. The 88 has now done 127000 kms and is just run in
the only repairs being clutch, cam belt and brake pads. Test drove a 92 Turbo
manual days ago and was most disappointed - heaps of mid-range power, but all
over by 6000 rpm, it was a noisy, harsh car with quirky handling, but the ABS
was absolutley brilliant. May be of interest - MR2's are still quite desirable
in New Zealand typical prices would be 1985 $8000, 1988 supercharger $10000,
1993 Turbo $20000.

I have had other sports cars (Fiero GT, BMW 320i, CRX), now with kids,
mortgage etc I'm looking forward to having a sports car again. Mine
is a 1987, few options and 291K kms so it will probably be a project as
well from time to time.
Still looking forward to getting it on the road this weekend.

I've owned a Toyota MR2 since I bought it brand new in 1987. I've never had a
major problem with it, and it runs like new with over 100K miles. Best investment
in an automobile I ever made...

It's almost two years since I bought my 1989 MR2. It's the car I dreamt of owning when I was younger (not that I'm old). It has lived up to my expectations.

I am so, so obsessed with MR2's. I was devastated when they quit manufacturing them.
It is my life-long goal to one day own an MR2. I can not even describe
the feelings I have for this beautiful machine!!!!!!!

I've got a 1992 2.0 litre GT T-Bar in aquamarine and its' handling
characteristics are magnificant! I have recommended this car to
several of my colleagues and now there are 8 in the car park in the
morning!
I'm quite anxious to get the car on a race track, so does anyone know
of any MR2 owners clubs in the UK who might organise such events?

I just had to e-mail my wife and tell her how great your page is. She wants me to get rid of my 91 turbo with a 132K on it. I keep fighting her telling her the car is great. maybe she can read some of the letters from others and become convinced. Keep up the good work.

Am researching exaust upgrades...would appreciate any advice, opinions. Is HKS exaust worth price? With Cat? Would simply bypassing cat improve flow much? What about straight pipes? I have a 93 turbo with K&N Filtercharger and a manual boost control set a 13 psi.
