I own a black 91 turbo MR2...currently I've put on 17" SSR GP~OMEGA,
Aeroware rear spoiler and front air dam, for performance I have a K&N

I am looking for some 93 & up stock MR2 rims (the 15" ones), I'll be willing to trade for some 16" MOMO Quasars w/tires, or I'll pay cash.
Also anyone looking for a 91 turbo tranny??? I have one...

I have an 86 Mr2 which I like very much. Being a former British owner its a joy to have something run everyday without leaking important substances all over. I am having an intermittent check engine light that comes out to a O2 sensor. Usually only on cruise. Any suggestions. These things are expensive I've found.

Hello from Australia! I have owned a red 1990 MR2 since March and it would have to be the best vehicle I have ever driven. Sexy, gutsy, responsive and handles like the true mid-engine low-slung beast that it is.

I love my 91 MR2 Turbo. Just got me a set of 16x7 rims up front and 17x8s in back. Wrapped in 205/45ZR16 up front and 235/40ZR17 in back. It handles so much better now! I have a problem with the low oil level light coming on though, any body familiar with this?

In 1995 I traded my 1991 MR2 Turbo on a new Supra TT. In the final analysis, while the Supra has infinitely more raw power than the MR2, the Supra lacks identity. It is just another very fast car. I wish that I had bought a 1995 Mr. Deuce.

I am a proud owner of a '91 red MR2 Turbo. I have always hated driving, but since I bought my car, I make excuses to get behind the wheel. When I'm stop at a signal light oreven when I'm driving down the road, I'll have people yell, "nice car" or "great car". Kory Yingling mentioned a problem with the LOW OIL LEVEL LIGHT coming on. I also have that problem. I change my oil every 3,000 miles, and the light comes on about 1,000 miles. I have a perplexing question: Why do people always ask me WHAT KIND OF CAR IS THAT; IS IT A MUSTANG? dday@continet.com

I have an MR2 too, but mine is alot better looking than any of the ones that I've seen. Just kidding, mine just has a full body kit on it, so it looks different from any of the ones that I've just seen. In conclusion I think the MR2 is the best Japanese sports cars that was ever built. And i am proud to be the owner of a 1992 toyota MR2.

I just sold a Lotus car and purchased a 1992 MR2, in light blue
metallic. It has an HKS turbo controller installed by its previous
owner. I have purchased a used set of 15 inch rims and installed
Hoosier Autocross tires for my weekend enjoyment. Car handles
beautifully. Finished second overall behind a Lotus 7 out of 25
entrants. I'm interested in any tips you have for my new car!

Proud owner of a 1991 MR2 Turbo. Great site, how bout some addresses for performance cataloges? Maybe you got 'em, just haven't found them. Anyway, just put a Select Sales intake on my car (cheaper AND dyno-tested better than an HKS) and it sucks the air like a champ. Take it easy, e-mail me if you got any performance tips (Ie good prices and/or references on my next step, intercoolers and boost controllers) Happy flying.

I had a 1987 Beautiful metalic blue MR2 5-speed. It was the smoothest car I have had. The experience was incredible the handling was so much fun. None of my friend cars could touch me. I beat a mustang gt at one time. remember shifting at 8,000 rpm makes a big difference. I sold the car for a 87 bmw 325is 5-speed which I love but I will always miss my MR2.

I I had one of the original 100 MR2's delivered to
the United States (back in February 1985 - point of
entry Long Beach CA). I have logged over 180K miles
on mine and love it to death! Have driven all over
the United States with it, too. Was very disappointed
when Toyota discontinued the little sports car...
Happy Motoring!

Help! Help! I have a Mk1 T-bar. I've just found out that I need a] a complete new exhaust system and b] new end rubbers for the rain gutters on the roof panels. A new exhaust system from the dealer will set me back 300 notes - can anyone recommend an alternative? And the end rubbers only seem to come as part of a complete new roof panel, at a modest 190 pounds. Each. Does anyone out there supply them seperately, or know of someone who does?

A close friend of my good friend, Simon, owns a lucious white 2-seater. I am very jelious of that mid-engined number and have had many endless nights tossing and turning whilst thinking of owning my own Ferrari beater. I would like you, as the brains behind this excellent web-site, to be the first to know that I'm thnking of getting an overdraft out to buy my own. I saw one in a Japanese car lott for the reasonable price of £6000. Now I've got to break the news to my mum..... I've recently got another job as a dishwasher construction engineer (Builder) to pay for it.

Hi all. I'm new to these great cars and am looking for advice on how to make improvements to my 1986 MK1 in regards to performance, without breaking the bank. Also, does anyone drive these things in the snow?

My 1986 MR2 has 171000+ miles and is still going strong. I haven't even changed the clutch yet!!! Toyota knows better than to make more MR2s. They last too long and would put them out of business. I'm so glad to see a this site. Looking for info on revving up my MR2. Any advise on where to buy parts and accessories would be appreciated.

I have an 86 MARK I with 137,000 miles and I love it! Right now though, the struts are shot and I am looking for some stiff replacements. I am also looking into buying an HKS exhaust, 17" rims, and a blower to match. I really want to be able to compete against my cousins MARK II Turbo so any advice you can give would be really appreciated!

I have an '85 SkyBlue Mr2. I'm interested in racing it, but find that it's engine is very limited. The people at HKS tell me I can get to 170 HP at stage 4, but I want more!!! I was wondering if it was possible to perform an engine swap with a newer one, preferably a supercharged one. Does anyone out there know if it has been done, or if it can be? Also, I was wondering if anyone has a produced a body kit which eliminates the need for the "pop-up" lights, and makes it flush with the body. I've seen it done on RX-7's but i want to know if it has been done on a Mr2. I'm also interested in buying some rims, preferably 16". If anyone has any information on any of these subjects, contact me at DjPeZ72@juno.com. Thanks...I Love This Web Site.

I own a 1991 MR2 Turbo and am very pleased with it. I just roled over 62,000 miles and I've already had my 60,000 mile tune-up. One thing that does have my concern is that my car uses a little bit of oil. About every 1,000 miles I have to add about 8 ounces (1/3 of a quart) to bring the dip stick level up to full. I went to my Toyota dealership and they checked for any oil leaks. They could find none and reported that there was no oil in the intercooler. I don't know if this oil loss is from the car getting older, or if it is because it is a turbocharged car. If you have any information for me on this I would sure like to know. Thanks for your time!

Almost got swept up in a ugly multi-car rush hour pile up on 101 southbound outside of San Francisco today. A refrigerator (or dishwasher?) fell into the left lane and a bunch of cars started piling into it and each other. I was in 4th gear, doing about 50 mph in the next lane over when the pile-up began taking place next to me. By stomping on the gas, I was able to get out of the way before a mini-van that had spun out of control flew into the space that I had been in a split second earlier. Thanks to my reflexes, presence of mind, and the quickness of Mr.2, I made it out of there without a scratch (at least five other cars suffered extensive damage). Phew! Thanks Mr. 2... :) Also, for those of you with K&N style air intake cones in your NA MR2's, I suggest custom farbicating a small rain shield out of sheet metal or plastic to keep direct rainfall from soaking the cotton gauze while the car is parked. The vents in the engine cover allow rain to fall directly onto the cone in my car. Water may get into the intake this way, and although I haven't heard of any documented problems, with no factory airbox catching it, this water can't be good for the engine... Anyway, better safe than sorry. :) Happy (and safe) motoring...

I don't own one; but I have lusted for one since its introduction. Who else wouldn't want a mid engines, high powered, curb huggin' sportcar. It's the greatest 'Bang for the Buck' ever in my humble opinion.

I currently live in California and have a red 91 MR2 (first owner, 96k miles). I'm moving to Mexico (Puerto Vallarta) this December and plan to take my MR2 with me but are concerned about parts and service since there are "very few" toyotas in Mexico (specially MR2's) and "NO Toyota Dealerships" . But I will take it anyways (you all can understand that), just imagine... driving a "rare" red MR2 in beautiful Puerto Vallarta must be a great experience... Comments welcome....
