Owned my MR2 since 93, love it more than my Mustang 5.0, and hope they make a new model so I can buy my wife one.

I in the last year have tried to purchase three mister twos. And every time I went to purchase it at the dealership (after getting the money/ financing, it was sold the day before. I would have thought I could become so depressed over a car, but then again I would have never thought I would fall so head over heels for a car. The Toyota MR2-1985-1996 rip-America. Geoff, have you ever thought about getting together a petition to send to Toyota to bring back the Mr2?Lets get one started.

Just bought the a used 1989 Toyota MR2, already I've spent $1200 on accessories. I have to spoil this car, I can't help it--we've bonded (I even named him). God, I love MR2's!

Very impressive site and a lot of good info for those who want to modify their yellow MR2 91 turbo like me. By the way Cincere Condoleances to all of you who lost their car in a crash. Hope you'll recover and I am trying to learn from your experiences.

Later this fall or next spring I'll be looking for an 85 MR2 for SCCA autocrossing. Right now I'm doing some background research. Good web site- thanks to those who work to maintain it.

Just a question - where are the latest MR2's? Stopped production or what? and if so why?

I used to own a MR2, and I got rid of it for a Eagle Talon Tsi all wheel drive turbo. The Talon is a much better car, and is a better all around performer. I would put my Talon up against any slow MR2.

To Tristin, regarding your July 1st message. Do me a favor, in 2 years when you look in the used car section of the newspaper and see 101 Talon Tsi's for sale and can't find anyone who is buying them, check back with us. Tristin, it's an Eagle. Need I say more?

Hi, I'm not an MR2 owner, but a proud Lancia Delta Integrale owner.
I have had a lot of races with my car, even against such beasts as a 911 turbo (which I lost btw), last weekend I raced agains an MR2...and won... only just, was good fun ^_^.

I love the MKII MR2 and have been reading about it for about a year now. I am only 15, and I'm already anxious to drive this awesome little two seater. The only thing I can do is hope that the price of Mr.2 will drop a bit before I'm able to buy my first car. I love your web sight and have it bookmarked so I'm able to hook up on it at least every week. NIX

After a many years of driving (and still enjoying) my MII MR2, 1991 - T-Top, the lack of seat space, and an expected new arrival in the family is forcing me to sell the car. If any one in Switzerland is interested in a "Like New" MR2 at a give away price, please contact me. (life's a bitch, but someone has to do it !!)

TO TRISTEN, IN REPLY TO YOUR COMMENTS AS A LOYAL (for now) TALO...uhh...ECLI....uhh....LASE... WELL, WHATEVER IT SAYS IT IS ON THE BACK (same thing), THERE ARE SOME THINGS
YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU CRITISIZE OTHERS. FIRST, YOUR MAKING AN APPLES TO ORANGES COMPARISON. THE TALON IS NOT A TRUE SPORTS
CAR BUT RATHER A "SPORTS COUPE".ALTHOUGH OFFERING
REASONABLY GOOD PERFORMANCE IN TURBO FORM (and no
other), IT'S DESIGN IS STILL BASED ON A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE
ECONOMY CAR PLATFORM AND REGARDLESS OF THE "AWD"
OPTION, THE MAJORITY OF POWER IS STILL CHANNELLED TO
THE FRONT WHEELS ( read: fwd with rear assist). THE MR2,
HOWEVER IS (in any form) A SEMI-EXOTIC AND HYBRID DESIGN
AND IS UNQUESTIONABLY A TRUE SPORTS CAR IN EVERY
RESPECT. SECOND, YOUR CAR IS NOT EVEN A TRUE IMPORT.
ITS A PRODUCT OF DIAMOND STAR MOTORS (joint venture of
Mitsubishi contaminated by Chrysler...remember the Colt?) THROUGH
OUT THIS CARS HISTORY, ITS BEEN KNOWN IN THE INDUSTRY AS BEING HIGHLY PROBLEMATIC IN THE AREAS OF: ENGINE, TURBO SYSTEM, TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH SYSTEM, AWD SYSTEM, & ELECTRICAL....true domestic car qualities....I KNOW, I'VE SERVICED THEM FOR EIGHT YEARS.
TOYOTA OWNERS (like me) DONT SEEM TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS....coincidence??? LASTLY, STYLE IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, BUT HOW DOES IT FEEL SEEING YOURSELF
COMING AND GOING ALL THE TIME (re: cookie cutter) ? MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BOUGHT A MUSTANG AND REALLY FIT INTO THE CROWD. AND IF YOU WANT TO TAKE ON ANOTHER 2+2,
WHY NOT TRY A TURBO SUPRA???
Thu Jul 3 15:3:23 1997

I would have sent the previous message directly and not wasted so much space (sorry), but all thats listed for an e-mail address is " / ".... wonder why???

Hi folks. I was just looking over the site and was impressed that the MR2 gets so much attention. I'm not knocking it, just impressed. I bought my 91 MR2 Turbo in 92 with 30k mi. I'm not a car enthusiast and just wondering what the car is worth. I'm kind of embarrassed to be writing this since I've read the others. You all seem to know all about the car. I guess I should take a little more pride in this baby huh? Anyway, I welcome any comments.

I just purchased a 91 MR2 turbo and am having some problems with it and looking for some advice..... As I was pulling out onto a fairly busy road, I didn't even hit the turbo gauge at all and was driving in an appropriate manner and when I looked in my rear view mirror, steam was going all over the place.I quickly pulled over and tried to make an assesment of what the problem was. At first I thought that it was a radiator hose or the water pump becase of the distinct smell of annafreeze. After closer examination, these were ruled out and there was no water or annafreeze in the oil probably ruling out a head gasket.Could it be a turbo hose or what would be the symptoms of a blown head gasket? PLEASE send your information! (The time that I had driving my Mistaah 2 was a time of extreme pleasure!)

Hi, Mister 2's
I've got my '88 2 for two years now and am slowly building it. My goal is to be able to put a sticker on my rear bumper saying " I eat Ferraris for breafast!!! ". To all you critics out there, the only other car that compares with the 2's beauty, grace and power is a 911, if y'all don't belive me just take the opportunety to race a Mister. About the petition to bring back the MR2, I'd be more than willing to put my name on the list.

I have one of the best MkII MR2's in Australia, it having won various show trophies and articles have been written about it in performance car magazines. We can still get current models from Japan (Bathurst and GT) but only a handfull are sold each month. I would give the MR2
a "grin factor" on 10 out of 10.

My E-mail took a turn for the worse so those of you that tried to email me for info. I was unable to email you back but leave me a line and I'll try to respond. Ain't computers a bitch. Cars are much easier especially when it's a 295hp MR2 love eating Vettes for lunch.

I have just recently purchased a 1991 MR2 turbo and plan to do many upgrades shortly. Recently took this car BONE stock (even with the factory air filter and air box intact) to the track and it was consistantly running high 14 teens. Also own a 1987 Toyota Corolla GTS Twin Cam Turbo 4AG running low 13's in the 1/4 mile. This page for MR2 is very extensive and many should get plenty of input from this page. Thanks

To RON, I couldn't have said it better!!
To Tristen, I dont think you're sincere, maybe jealous, me too! I sold my 85, got an 89, then sold it for a 4WD truck(winter here).
To All: I will be moving to San Diego in Sept97, until I get a MKII turbo(my next toy!) I would like to admire others' cars. any shows?
Currently, I live in Japan, BOY you should see the MR2's here, these guys really trick 'em out!! Would love to bring one back (how's $6,000.00) for a loaded MKII GT., but that right-steer messes me up.

Great page! I bought an '85 MR2 when they first came to America. I
got rear-ended in '88 so I bought an '88 supercharged MR2. I have since parted with it and am now driving a Toyota 4x4 Pickup. It HURTS! I would love to have another one. I wish they would bring it back. I will always be able to remember that feel.

I have had a 86 Mr2 for a little over a year now. How do you people keep them on the road? My car has not run for more than 3 days in a row. First my starter went I had to push start it everywhere, followed by the rear hub, then both of my control arms broke and these are just a few of my problems how do you people keep them on the road?

I have a '93 MR 2 in Signal Yellow. I love the darn thing! I had to wait 6 mo. to get it after a dealer told me I couldn't get one. Does anyone know how many '93's were made in Yellow? I know they only ran yellow 2 weeks in June of '93 after not running it during the previous two quarters. They may have run them during the first quarter of the model year but I'm not sure.
Bye for now.

Lessee...I own a red '85 all original with no mods and still the original factory stereo. The engine is in kick-ass shape but I need bodywork BADLY. If anyone can help me with wicked prices on two rear quarters and a front valence, I would be very happy. I also need a driver's side view mirror (Damn McDonald's drive thrus!) I intend on keeping this puppy a long time, even though I made the grave mistake of driving it for 2 winters (forgive me).

I forgot to say that I know where there's a '94 in red with only, count 'em, 4700 miles! There's also a yellow '91 w/41,000 miles for sale by calling 513-858-3943. I've driven both. The red one, of course is in better shape...actually new. I'm not a broker, I was just helping a friend find an MR2 and he dicided to buy a race car instead!

sorry, to write again, but I must ask how that individual about 20 people back got a "1998" Mr2?? On the same note, is there anyone who would be willing to help with a petition to Toyota? We must bring it BACK! Although they are becoming classics fast. Any comments either way?

I live in South Africa and have the only MR2 supercharged on the continent. MR2s were never sold in Africa but about 6 or 7 were brought in by grey importers, but I lived in LA for 2 years 1989-1990 and used mine to race Solo II and win the 1990 class B championship in SoCal. In 1991 I came back to South Africa and brought it back with me. I really struggle to get parts for it and would really appreciate getting hold of someone who would be interested in supplying parts internationally. I currently need shocks and springs quite badly as the current ones have collapsed from 9 years hard use and racetrack work. Somebody please contact me if you can help.
Thankzzzz.

Ola everyone!!! Question of the day: True or False, does the MK2 (90-95) have a stock amplifier on the driver's side rear panel? I read somewhere that there is one. Does anyone know for sure? I am upgrading my current system and a guy @ the stereo store said that he doubted that my (current) stock system (head unit) couldn't possibly be putting out the power and sound quality that it is doing. I have a 6.5" tube w/ an amp, but the amp is not driving anything except the tube. Please let me know!!!! 2GQNAMR2

A little advice for MR2 owners : I bought the car a month ago and took it to a lube shop that does coolant flushes. Big Mistake! I now have $4000 worth of damage to the engine simply b/c they didn't bleed the system properly. MR2 owners: Spend the extra money and get it done at the dealership!

I read in the guestbook that Todd klosnick wants to start a petition to Toyota to bring back the MR2, as an ex-MR2 owner, I could have agreed with him, now I've looked over the MRJ, and no chance should anyone consider bringing back the MR2. Write to Toyota to hurry up with production on the MRJ is more interesting.

To the guy with the water spots on his 91 MR2, I,ve seen another red 91 and it also has water spots. The owner told me he keeps his car outside and a little time and fog destroyed his paint! So to everyone who is planning to buy a red 91 MR2, if it's the stock paint, the previous owner probably garaged his car and you better whip on a thick coat of CLEAR COAT!!!

No one answered my questions yet. But it's o.k. No Rush. Here it is again. Does anyone know if I need to change the valves, cams, and pistons on a naturally asperated 140 hp 91 @ up non turbo Mr2? Because I don't want to buy a stock turbo version if I could just add my own to the stock 140 non turbo engine. It would save any one a couple thousand dollars. Plus it's more exciting when you choose your own turbo. But I gotta admit, The 91 Turbo version is the greatest car I ever drove. Or I could buy a turbo version and start upgrading the internals before the turbo fails on me. But any answers and coments are greatly welcomed. Sorry but I don't have a e-mail adress so please leave it on the guest book. Thanks and hope to hear from Mr2 second generation fans soon. Peace.....

Justin Kwong. Buying a stock turbo would be a better idea since the chasis, suspension, transmition...of
a stock MR2 turbo would be much stronger than a N/turbo. If you really wanna buy a MR2 turbo, be careful about
engine oil leakage. I brought my 93 MR2 turbo(in stock form) two months ago. And I found out the engine oil is coming
out all over the engine. But still it's powerful and handles very well. As long as i fix the problem(s), I'll start modifying
it seriously. Bye.

Trestan, love. I have never posted anything to the net (being shy by nature) but your little blip has raised my ire. I'm just too glad you turned your MR2 to a more appreciative owner. We all know you probably got a very good price, considering that the MR2 is consistently offered in a SELLER's market! I can't make any comparison to the Eagle Talon Mitsubishi whatever (and why should I bother), but trust me, a few years (or less) down the road, you will miss your MR2... when odd parts and end things start to need overhaul and replacement on that Talon thing. And one final thing, if you truly wanted a kickass, bigger, better, serious driving machine you shoulda bought a Supra, dude. I used to have one, before the MR2... but NOTHING takes a curve so sweet as my little black '94!! And, confidentially, just last Saturday I quite enjoyed pissing off a new Supra while making hairraising, zippy little lane changes at high speed through moderate highway traffic. He couldn't do it, and neither can you... now. Happy trails!

I'd also like to say that I've been a fan of the MR2 for about 6 yrs now, although I don't own one, I've had the pleasure of driving the 95 version. I'd be suprised if it makes it to production. It still seems like a concept car. A RWD, 2 + 1/2 + 1/2 seater! Maybe they should put a rear spoiler on it to TRY to appeal to us! Comments?

(...I knew I should never have started this...) In answer to queries, yes I am fun. I do drive fast (why did we buy them otherwise) especially round corners and curves. I miswrote myself, I own a '93 normal aspiration, no t-tops (not without an ozone) and no add-ons. He's perfect as he stands and moves like a dream, thank you very much. I have seen the MRJ, it looks like a Miata (aka bathtub). I found and downloaded a picture from an Australian site. If you're truly interested I can dig deep and locate the url. If my vote counts, I would rather NOT reignite production; one of the best things about MR2 ownership is you don't see them everywhere, unlike the Datsun-cum-Nissan series which over-abundantly clog the byways. I especially like stopping for gas in Texas. While rummaging around under the front bonnet, the invariable question is, "what the heck is that damn thing, and where the heck is the engine?" Let's keep it the LIMITED edition (sorry you don't have one and you can't have mine) MR2!!!

UGLY!!!!!!! UGLY!?!?!?!?!?! Oh Misty, I think you may have made a severe error in judgement using that "word". And then, to go on and ask the MR2 owners of the world why we're attracted to the car. Ay karumba!!! Firstly, I would guess you have never had the supreme pleasure of driving an MR2 or any other sport car for that matter. Secondly, I would guess you have not read the rave reviews and heartfelt thoughts submitted to this site. And lastly, I would ask that you share with us the type of car you presently put up with. I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think the MR2 MK2 is one of the most beautiful cars made in the last 10 years. I have a red '91 Turbo setting in my garage, and sometimes I just love to go out and look at it! I really like the like the low, sleek, silohette and the race-ready side vents. It's also voloptuously rounded, but doesn't look fat or mis-proportioned. I could go on and on, but the MR2 owners know the way I feel. And when you add the fact that the car is very fast and handles and brakes like a dream... It's the perfect car for me!! (I am sorry that you don't appreciate it Misty) Long live the MR2!!

Hi Wendy. It's OK Wendy- your car is 'cute'. I'm sure you love it.
To Michael R.: I have a sleek silohette, am voluptuously rounded, race ready, and handle like a dream; that doesn't make be a beauty.
Michelle: What is harummmph? My point to you all is that your webpage has classy graphics and I am intrigued by their creator. I would be surprised if someone with an appreciation of design and style drives an MR2. In response to your question Wendy, I drive a seductive little 1956 300SL Mercedes Benz Gullwing. I'm looking for someone who appreciates beauty, class, and elegance. Speed is only relevent if you are in a hurry. P.S. I respect your loyalty to your fellow MR2ers Wendy. Take care. Love Misty.

This is a GREAT site. Whoever put this together did a GREAT job. I have a 93 Red Turbo. Paint faded terribly. I badgered the dealer enough that they re-painted it and clear-coated "under warranty". It looks better than when new. Is there anyplace in this site where people can post questions for others to answer? Oh Misty, where do I even start? Oh well, here we go again.
First, If you really do own a gullwing (which I kind of doubt, because most Mercedes owners at least keep their arrogant opinions to themselves), why did you come here and how did you find us? (it's not the kind of site you just stumble upon)
2. People who use the word "ugly" to describe someone's love don't have much class, but you claim you do?
3. Why do YOU need a small toy for a status symbol? What other small toys do you own?
4. You seem confident enough to boast about your figure and abillities, so tell us, are you a beauty or not? And while your at it, include measurements, height, and weight.
5. I think "Harummmph" is the noise Marge Simpson makes when she's mad but I'm not sure. Michelle?
6. I believe "all of you" is the correct phrase for your sentence. "You all" sounds like something Daisy Duke might say. Are you a hick chick, Misty?
7. If you are looking for someone like yourself, this is not the place to find him/her. Group therepy might be a good place to start. You can learn to channel your negative energy into something more productive than irritating people.
8. Speed has little to do with what drives our passion for our cars. It's about total performance and a sort of mechanical harmony that has nothing to do with being in a hurry. If I have to explain it, you would'nt understand.
9. If you do own this fossil of a Benz, what do you drive every day? Antiques look good on a show field, but you would'nt leave them in parking lots and sitting on the side of the road with malfunctioning Lucas electricals is not very "elegant".
10. You seem to be very affectionate towards Wendy. No offense, but are you bi-sexual? Just curious. This would be OK I guess. Maybe Tristen might be interested. You two would probably get along well.
And lastly, why is it that people like you never post an e-mail address? What are you so afraid of?

All of us would like a new MR2, but I doubt you'll ever see it. To understand this you have to examine the chain of events that led to it's US demise. First off, I'm not knocking Toyota here (I'm a loyal MR2 owner and am very pro-Toyota), but in recent years they and every other major Japanese manufacturer have become too big and powerful. We all know that the primary interest of corparate giants (ie: Toyota of America, GM, AT&T, Microsoft) is MONEY, not pleasing every market segment like a smaller manufacturer. (the way they used to be) This is typical of US corparate GREED. The hard fact is Toyota does'nt make money selling sports cars here; They make it on Camrys and Corollas. It's all about supply and demand and there is not a very large demand for sports cars in the US anymore. This is due to INSANE insurance rates (more corparate greed) and the pathetic US obsession with mini-vans and sport utilities. So if you're looking to cast blame on someone, just look around you. My question is, where does it end? We've already lost our beloved MR2, the incredible third gen. RX7, and the 300ZX. Japan only has one real supercar left in the US, the killer Supra. Is it next to go? Will we all be driving Neons in five years? The whole thing SUCKS, but what do you do when no one cares? Are you listening Toyota? One final thought: in the past ten or so years, Toyota has become affiliated with GM, Mazda with Ford, Mitsu with Chrysler, etc... Do you see a connection here? Contamination by Detroit politics and greed?

(Ron, I see but I don't believe...) Misty, you are so aptly named 'cause you seem to be peering through a dense fog, babe. Your vaunted appreciation of beauty, class and elegance is misplaced and you'd realize speed is always, ALWAYS relevant -- if you could get up to speed in your status symbol. Good luck in your search, however when you possess true class you don't need to look for it -- it will find you. I find you pretentious and verging on totally blind. Open your eyes and walk into the light, woman. In your search, why not try www.mercedesbenz.com, maybe you'll find others of your ilk who are interested. And BTW, it ain't you all, it's y'all. MICHEL - but of course the MR2 comes in automatic, but why? Should you insist on this pursuit, they made a 1994 version (I have the brochure) but it didn't come turbo'd. KEVIN MAGDYCZ - I ordered my '93 manual through a dealer in Northern California. Try any larger, established Toyota dealership in your area. Good luck! Michael - according to the brochure, the 1994 model came with standard 6 speaker (inside side mirrors, front door panel and rear side panel), or optional 8 speaker with the extra speakers in the panel behind the seats. RON - sugar, explaining the zen of MR2 ownership to the uninitiated is nigh on pointless. I don't really even need to drive mine, just sitting in it is almost enough. It fits me length, breadth and girth like a body glove. And starts up purring like a dream every time. Except it's not really a purr, more like the deep, satisfied rumble of a sleek and wellfed Siberian tiger. And to drive... excuse me, it's time for a late night spin. See ya!

If you want to see, hear, feel, or ultimately drive a REAL sports car, you will have to go to a Mazda dealer and see an RX-7! Anything else is just an excuse...a poor excuse.

Just bought a 1991 and think I have a good mechanic (not that I need one "yet"). Am having a little bit of trouble with the no front end feel and smooth ride vs: my old RX7. Mine's normally aspirated, but would like to know if there's any cost and reliablilty effective way to gain about 20 hp.

Your site is a great source of information on this great little scoot. I'm looking for a MK1 to buy ('86 or '87). Alas, though mind and body are willing, the wallet is not. So, I wait not-so-patiently, contenting myself with furtive glances and cajoling used car dealers to let me test-drive. ;-)

While I like to think of MR2 lovers as an overall friendly bunch, I do have two questions for Tulliman: Why are you here and who asked you???? I find it funny that people with... different... opinions feel the need to flame the MR2 at a site filled with MR2 lovers!! I have to wonder what these people think they will accomplish by badmouthing the cars whose value we so appreciate and the people who drive them (and love doing so)??? I really don't think anyone smart enough to own an incredible car like the MR2 is going to be stupid enough to let some smart talk from some not-so-smart people sway their opinion. Then again, that's just my opinion. :)

I used to have a MR2 Turbo with 260 hp but I crashed it.
I bought a Ford Escort Cosworth with 300 hp. I must say
that the MR 2 s quality is much better.
I aalso think that my Mr 2 was a bit faster especially after 100 mph.

I find driving my MR2 a damn site easier than driving the Internet.
Anyway, here's my top tip. If you want to carry skis then forget
buying the roof bars etc. from Toyota. Just wrap an old towel around
the tops and bottoms and shove them through the spoiler, resting on
the roof. An elastic clip onto the engine cover louvres and
'Hey Presto' secure skis (don't laugh, it works). Has anyone else
got any top tips to share ?

Tulliman : I thought sports cars were supposed to have effective well built engines? The RX-7? The 12A rotary was one of the most unreliable engines ever built. Then there was the 13B, which was the same junk : unreliable, gas guzzling, oil burning piece of crap. How many engines have you replaced? None you say? Welcome to the world of the rotary engine buddy - only a matter of time. Have fun!

Tulliman, a little search on this great site might provide some interesting facts about mr2 v. rx7. Particularly, check the racing info section re: break wear and durability. Hmm. Although I just had new front rotors, pads, plug wires, and an alternator put on my recent purchase ('87, 87,000 mi). Ouch, expensive stuff to a guy who's previous set of wheels was a '76 Chevy Caprice (for sale, by the way).

Great site! The MR2 has been one of my favorite modern sports car since it came out. I have never owned one, but owned an 85 Corolla GTS with twin-cam engine. I am now seriously considering trading or selling my 360hp 69 GTO to get an 85-88 MR2. Wish me luck in finding a good one. When I do I'll use this site a great deal. ltlgto in WA.

Hello friends:
I was summoned to read this months guest book because of the comments that MISTY had made. Misty, this goes out for you.-
I have had my 85 MR2 for over two years now, and although I find it visually endearing in its angular way, I do subscride to the notion that there are other cars out there that are just as, if not more beautiful. For example, the Ferrari F355. The Mclaren F1, BMW 850i. I must compliment you on your fine Mercedes, for that is truly a work of design art, and a notable classic.
I am a fan of the MR2, and have always enjoyed it, and it is a shape that you either love, or hate. We all have our tastes, so no one is wrong. I personally am in the market for a late model Nissan 300ZX as the succesor to my aging red rocket. I will always keep the MR2, but again, there are other cars out there.
Now don't everyone get all hostile on me please, I still am a fan of this fine Toyota, I just felt that I would give Misty a break from the barrage of negative reponses she got as a result of her opinion.
Best wishes:
Dan Sarkar

To Michelle, whos rebuttal to the RX-7 man was quite eloquently put.
Thank you my friend, for your words of chastisement. A few months back I wrote a similar response to a bunch of yahoos proclaiming the glories (however ill-founded) of their Fieros on OUR website.
Having your own opinion is one thing, like Misty, but flagrant disrespect and ridicule of those of us who own MR2s is just plain immature and catty (Beverly Hills 90210 comes to mind)
What do you mockers and doom-sayers have to prove anyway?
I said it before, I'll say it again: Go find you own page, and let us
MR2 owners have our fun, for we know what we are talking about.
Thanks again Michelle, keep smiling!:]

Hi everybody, tis I again
I just had to add one more entry before signing off. I just read over a whole bunch of everyones response, and I think it is great!!!! I haven't checked this guestbook for quite some time, and never before have I ever seen such interesting banter!!!
We MR2 owners are a dedicated bunch, and although I am interested in a 300ZX, I again say that I will never lose my MR2, for it is a classic peice of work. I agree with Ron in the corporate greed thing (Insurance mainly, the biggest legalized scam in the world) but the social paradigms have shifted my friend, and the recent fad is these pretentious sport-utes owned by those who think off-roading means parking on the grass instead of the driveway. Tis a sad thing, but we can take assurance of the fact that even though our beloved automotive genre has beed euthenized, those of us that still have ours can enjoy a hefty reward if we ever want to sell them, because of their rarity, agreed? Social trends tend to come around, and after the baby boomers are long gone, and their children grow-up, there will be a huge demand for the sports car again.
I enjoy the comradery I am seeing amongst the lot of you, and any questions you might have in regards to you MR2, I would be glad to answer, because believe me people, if it can break down, or malfuction, I've experienced it, and fixed it. You show me another 12 year old car that looks this good (forgive my arrogance, but I take pride in my little red rocket that could......)
take care you all! and remember, the real fun starts at 6500rpm!!!!!

Dan--you're welcome. I don't consider myself to be very outspoken, but sometimes you have to make exceptions. :) :) And you must realize that "keep smiling" is not at all a problem.... all I have to do is walk out the door, keys in hand and slip behind the wheel of my baby. Anyone fortunate enough to experience this knows the smiles driving an MR2 can bring. One last thing... Debbie--Congratulations on the recent purchase. I'm sure you'll love it as much as the rest of us love ours (if you can survive the wait until you get it). :) Happy driving!!

New owner of a 1991 Signal Yellow, 2.2L MR2.
I am finding this is a rare car. In the 2 months that I've been
aware of MR2s I've only seen one other on the road. I've seen
more of the Mk1 model but the Mk2's are scarce.
I like having a different sporty vehicle... I see 1 or 2 Mitsu.
3000 GT's every day.
It was just to sweet to pass up. It looks like a little Ferrari!

I have just bought my 6th MR2, it's silver with a black roof and I adore it. I hate the thought of them being dis-continued, not sure how I'd cope!! I wonder if 6 MR2's is a record, no way of knowing I suppose. Just one other thing, Motorline in Canterbury should be awarded some sort of prize, they are a family run garage and I can't speak highly enough about them, they are always so very helpful etc.....
