Tue Aug 4 20:50:08 1998 Dennis F. Otto (1Cust151.tnt1.elkhart.in.da.uu.net) Nice sight; am picking up my "new" '89 MR2 (na) tomorrow: 57K miles, 5 spd, and putting the Borbet H whells with Dunlop D60A2-from my Civic, with Toyota Adapter rings. First Toyota: even with "rim protectors" on the stock alloys felt pretty good' looking forward to decent tires. Couldn't stand not having a decent lil 2 seater- traded my "beefed up" '94 del Sol and '97 Civic for a new Accord V6 coupe...fine car, but fun???? not really!! MR2 certainly "communicates", should be fun.

It has help me a lot in learning more about the mr2. However, I have a question about the difference in the turbo and non-turbo mr2. The question/concern that I had is the following: I wanted to know if it would be better to buy a mr2 non-turbo and then installing a new turbo to the engine and how much would it cost. Also my next question is if the two engines are in fact the same except for the turbo. Thanks your for your help! Fabian

Wed Aug 12 17:21:01 1998 Betsy Grous (edslink3.eds.com) I have a Jan. '85 MR2 with 127K, which my Dad bought new and drove only in the summer for a few years. I begged, pleaded and cried until he sold it to me (and not cheap either - thanks Dad!). I've driven it through Connecticut winters (not fun), Michigan winters (really not fun) and spent three days in it when I recently moved to Texas (would've been fun if I had cruise control). My plan was to drive it until the next major repair and buy a new Integra GSR, but you know what? Poking around on this website, I've realized how much I love my car (even though it's in the shop right now), warped rotors and all. Sorry Dad, you can't have it back. I'm keeping it forever!
Wed Aug 12 19:01:32 1998 Brian Coulter (salem30-12.aorcentaf.af.mil) I am looking for a performance upgrade kit and some assorted accessories. I would greatly appreicate it if someone could send any information on these topics. Thank You.
Thu Aug 13 16:55:34 1998 Mark (mail.cardinal.com) I am very disappointed to see your site being sponsored by Rebel Motor Sports! Jeff Bihn and Rebel Motor Sports is a RIP OFF! Not only did they not send all of my parts, but he over charged me. He said he would refund the money and send me the missing and vital part, but he never did! Beware of Rebel Motor Sports, don't get cheated like me!
Thu Aug 13 20:42:05 1998 Dad Grous (hrfr-sh5-port57.snet.net) I'm the dad who sold Betsy (Aug. 12th) the MR2. She really didn't pay that much for it, considering I still owe her $16,000 (private joke). I sure do miss them. I hope that they are good to each other.

Sat Aug 15 03:54:51 1998 Wayne Tarr (203.98.45.36) Hi. I was just wondering about what a good price fro an MR2 is. Here in New Zealand I can get a 1991-1993 MR2 for about $11000 (nz) This is about US$5000 or 3300 pounds. They are imported from Japan usually with 40k - 50k on the clock. A friend has one and I love the car. Acceleration is unbelievable.
Sat Aug 15 16:11:14 1998 Anthony Spaulding (hd49-013.hil.compuserve.com) Dear Intl' MR2 Club: My father recently purchased a pre-owned 1994 Turbo T-Top MR2 with 7,000 miles and the TRD package. We have been searching high and low to gather as much information on this auto as possible. But he is still hungry for more information. If you could mail or phone him at the following: Robert Spaulding 10 Nicotiana Court Homosassa, FL 34446 Phone 352-382-0316 Thanks for your time!! P.S. Mon Aug 17 01:46:27 1998 James Saulpaw (host-209-214-48-7.tys.bellsouth.net) It is nice to know that I am not the only one with a love affair for the MR2. I bought mine in 1985 and although many new passenger cars can beat it in the 0-60 category, they will never give you the excitement and pure pleasure of driving. I still have articles from when I bought my car comparing it to a Ferrari 308. I love my car and just going to the Food Lion is fun. I'll be back to this sight and hopefully I can join the Nashville chapter soon. Thanks for the great sight.

I would welcome any comments about the normal running temprature. my car always runs with the gauge centralised, it reaches temp within a couple of mins of starting and never varies.

Thu Aug 20 22:07:33 1998 Duffy Elliott (spider-te062.proxy.aol.com) Hi everybody. I am 15 years old, and I'll be 16 on August 29th. All I want for my birthday is a 1991 or newer Toyota MR2. It is a very awsome car. I'm looking at a Red 1991 MR2 with t-tops and power everything, with 94,459 miles for about $5,500. I don't think my dad will buy it, and I don't have enough money, but I really hope he does.
Thu Aug 20 22:11:41 1998 Duffy Elliott (spider-te013.proxy.aol.com) Hi, it's me again. If I do get that 1991 MR2, does anybody know any really cheap performance enhancers? (i.e. filters, etc.)
Fri Aug 21 00:01:32 1998 Shedrick Flowers (209.136.168.167) Are there any MR2 clubs in Mississippi?
Fri Aug 21 02:01:03 1998 Robert Edmands (ip209-183-83-34.ts.indy.net) I drive a 1991 MR2 Turbo and it is absolutely fantastic. It has 70,0000 on it and it only let me down once. The cooling system failed when I went down on a road trip to Lexington-KY from Indianapolis,IN. Now it is doing great! What should I do to make it the best it can be? I'm an ignoramus. If I did not love this car-I would surely be a very ill informed individual!!!---Bob
Fri Aug 21 17:55:29 1998 Peter (spider-ti074.proxy.aol.com) Hi. This is Peter writing from Germany/Europe. I found this side because it was a link named in a german MR2-site I have to say: It is really fantastic. I owned an MR2 Mk1 from 1991 to 1992, then I sold it :-((( Since then I am driving a Fiat 124 Spider. But there is a MR2 Mk1 I know which is for sale. It is low on miles and I think I will by it. It was and it IS a great and fantastic car. If you ever had one you will never forget it. So go on MR2 drivers ....
Sat Aug 22 18:09:46 1998 Dan Shaw (spider-tm082.proxy.aol.com) I'm 15, and I'm glad to find a club for the rare but kick-ass MR2. Do you guys know what performance parts are best for an 86 MR2? I want to supe up my MR2 and make it fast enough to beat my sisters Prelude.
Sat Aug 22 19:37:46 1998 Martin Harvey (p49-pigeon-gui.tch.virgin.net) For 1.5 years I've dreamed of owning a new shape MR2 GT-T BAR, it appears in the next couple of months I will have sufficient cash to purchase the car of my dreams. Only then will my life begin :)

Mon Aug 24 05:33:25 1998 Holger Steffen (wormhole.tds.de) Exactly one month ago I bought "him". He is a metallic-blue '91 MR2 Turbo T-Bar and still the car ruling in my sweetest dreams. Every day, when I finished work, I'm so happy to sit in my car, turn the key and then...SMILE ! Last week I gave "him" some 16"wheels and a 40 mm suspension. The kids in my neighbourhood asked me: "Is it a Ferrari ? "- Oh what a fantastic feeling... Bye, Holgi from No-speed-limit-Germany
Mon Aug 24 11:19:36 1998 Jay Ferris (usr52-dialup2.mix1.Bloomington.mci.net) I own a 94 Turbo (yellow) and I look forward to driving just as much as the day I picked it up at the showroom. There are not many cars around that can give you this kind of performance and yet be as bulletproof as this thing is. I sure hope another mid-engine two seater will come from the folks at Toyota someday again. BTW thanks for the great web site!
Tue Aug 25 13:02:18 1998 Lisa (dns.dyncorp.com) Just purchased a red '87 in awesome condition. I was fortunate to be able to purchase it from a trusted friend who only drove it on weekends, so it only has 48,500 miles on it. I feel like I hit the jackpot! Thanks for such an informative website!

Quick story: A couple weeks ago, a couple guys in a tt-Stealth drove up where I was parked. One guy preceeded to look over my 91 Black MR and then come up and ask to buy it from me. I politely declined. Makes an owner feel good. I guess those Stealths are missing that special something.

Sat Aug 29 18:47:52 1998 Earl Wheaton (ppp133.tminet.com) I have an 89 which I believe to be one of the last ones imported. How do I find out the last serial numbers to confirm this? Also I recently saw on speedvision that the new hot rodders are pulling up to 600 hp out of a Honda Civic. What can I do to get a little more punch out of my MR2 without going to the poor house. Took a long time to find the MR2 I wanted and I want to keep it dependable. Congrats to all that own this fine vehicle. Keep em running.

Mon Aug 31 22:51:11 1998 Jake (stl-wa44-29.ix.netcom.com) WHO SAYS AN MR2 ISN'T RUGGED: I own a pearl green '91 MR2. Let me tell you that this car has been to some VERY extreme places. This might sound crazy but this car has taken me on twisty, one lane, VERY bumpy dirt roads up to the 7000 foot level in the deep remotes of the Washington Cascades. The car made it without the slightest of a problem. I would be VERY surprised if any MR2 out there has been to as rugged and remote of a place as mine. You all probably think I'm crazy but the car is in great shape and I love it to death. This just goes to show how incredibly built this car is! I love all you fellow MR2 owners out there! Let the car live on forever! GREAT WEBSITE!
