Fri Jan 1 12:20:50 1999 James McClintock (mfs-pci-bqm-vty59.as.wcom.net) I have just bought my first mr2 , it's a '91 g-limited model. this model was not it seems availble in the uk (mines imported from japan) and have found the web site an invaluable source of information . Thanks alot Guys (and Girls!) . If anyone knows anything important about this model could they please mail me and tell me. thanks once again for the great website.
Sat Jan 2 02:32:23 1999 Adam Miller (ppp134.cu.soltec.net) Through intensive field testing and reams of research and analysis, I have determined the my lowered and massaged-motor MK II is not the optimum Illinois snow tracker. Time to put the stock wheels back on and maybe snow tires.
Sat Jan 2 18:01:23 1999 Darryl Hamilton (squid1.ix.net.nz) I've just recently purchased an '84 MR2 G, and it didn't come with an owners manual (got it from an auction), so I'm still a little lost with what some of the buttons do. Is there anywhere on the net I can view/download an owners manual ? (in PDF or similar format)
Sun Jan 3 01:31:40 1999 Guillermo Castillo (spider-tf044.proxy.aol.com) I find lots of important info about the 4AGE on this site. Can I be part of the club or at least receive some mail about perf. mods. ? I don't really have an MR2, but I own a Corolla FX16 with the same 4AGE engine as the Mk1 !
Sun Jan 3 11:52:14 1999 Gary Christie (spider-tq011.proxy.aol.com) I own a NA MKII '92. I have owned two others, both '86 NA MKI. I liked all three, although the MKII is a little more tech. advanced. Looking to start an MR2 toys collection, any leads would be great. Also looking for photos and models of the '96 LeMans MR2 #46. Enjoy the driving!!
Sun Jan 3 23:40:31 1999 GEORGE (asg-102.iap.bryant.webtv.net)
Mon Jan 4 19:01:46 1999 Darren Halcon (203.30.7.130) Great site! Have to admit I've been logging into this site every time I come online. First discovered this site 8 months ago a long time before my parents bought my brother and I our FIRST CAR! An MR2 (November 30th 1998). It's a Japanese imported 1992 3S-GE, with 94 tail lights... My pride and joy.
Mon Jan 4 23:05:58 1999 Aaron A. Billups (user-38lc945.dialup.mindspring.com)
Tue Jan 5 23:03:44 1999 John Honnold (hil-c45-069-vty153.as.wcom.net) I would love to find more information on performance modifications for the '85-'89 MR2.

Wed Jan 6 23:59:24 1999 Robert Poprawski (spider-ta024.proxy.aol.com) I am on my third Mr2. This one is a 1996 dark green. Bought it a year ago with 18K miles. Have only 30K now. Might sell it. Looking for Mr2 Supercharged in perfect shape.
Thu Jan 7 01:43:29 1999 Jason Bright (207.179.135.162) I have an 85 MKI with 125000 miles. I bought it two years ago, but only started driving it a few months ago. When i brought it home, It ran on only 3 cyls. After a week of motor work, it was running on al four. The first time i drove it, i was suprised. It is a rocket. I have driven my friends 88 cavailer z-24 and my mr2 would give it a run for its money. I can get a 1/4 mile time of 14.79 at 84 mph. Not bad for a 4 banger with 125000 miles huh?. I am currently in the process of instaling a supercharged 88 MKI motor with only 45000 miles. The car that this engine cam out of would do mid 13's and top 95 mph in a 1/4 mile.

I have an 85. I have been doing mods(interior, exterior, motor and suspension) on it for over 3 years, It's too much to list. I just wanted to say thanks for all of the help and support to everyone who I've met on this site and everyone who supports it. Thanks!!
Sat Jan 9 03:13:40 1999 Louis Zamudio (1Cust231.tnt13.lax3.da.uu.net) great site! Mon Jan 11 16:39:53 1999 Bill Gunn (itcwgunn.umsl.edu) Just acquired a 1986 MR2 NA, good condition, high miles but well cared for. It has a couple of problems, I'll check faqs first and then post to digest if no answers found. Can't wait for spring so I can pull the sunroof and put it thru it's paces!!!
Mon Jan 11 19:26:07 1999 Terry (host-209-214-168-62.sdf.bellsouth.net) Anyone know if a Supra intercooler (any year) will fit MKII's? I have a beautiful 92 Turbo, 57K miles. I plan on a limited amount of modifications, such as a G-Tech ECU upgrade, TRD Bars all-around, TRD Hard Rubber susp. bushings (if I can find them), modified OEM turbo, and a few cosmetic enhancements. I already have a Trust exhaust, Blitz drop-in filter, Tokico Illumina shocks. TRD springs, Blitz Boost control and Turbo Timer. It is the most beautiful car I have ever seen ('99 NSX included). I also own an '85 MKI, in flawless condition (well, almost flawless), and a 1998 Integra Type-R. Sorry about the Honda plug on this Toyota page, but Toyota doesn't currently offer anything worth a damn, performance wise. I'm sorry, but the Solora (sp?) and the Celica GT don't exactly get my blood pumping. Nice cars to be sure, but...anyway, the MR2 is my all-time favorite car, bar none. If Toyota still offered it for sale here, no doubt there would be a black or yellow Turbo version, wit! h leather, LSD, and preferably no T-Tops in my garage right now. Alas, only a the Integra and 85 MKI reside there now, with the 92 in the "shop" for new rear tires. By the way, they are 17" Yokohama AVS, and I got 13K out of the rears, and the front have at least half of their tread left! If anyone out there has gotten the G-Force ECU upgrade, post your comments on this page. I plan on that upgrade next, and I'd like to know what somebody with some brains thinks about it, rather than some salesman offering this $750 worth of electronic glory than will reinvent my car (actual quote from a guy at Alamo about the effects of this upgrade). Again, anyone that know about the Supra IC question, please answer. Good luck, and watch that oversteer...
Mon Jan 11 21:03:16 1999 Quavnny Gomes (hil-c45-003-vty140.as.wcom.net) i have a 92 black mr2.
Mon Jan 11 22:09:14 1999 Jason (ip112.ics-online.net) I have owned my 1991 toyota mr2 for 14months. Its a great car, in the summer, but was not meant to be driven in the snow!!! I live in Michigan USA, it took me a while to adapt my driving ability to the cars drive ability in the snow.
Tue Jan 12 15:24:57 1999 Joel Webster (206.230.102.33) I have a 1991 normally aspirated. Do you guys have a membership?
Tue Jan 12 19:30:10 1999 mike agregado (209.132.12.145) i have a '91 mr2 & had an '86, there are simply no substitutes for this car. they are the best handling best looking cars on the streets.
Tue Jan 12 21:56:32 1999 Michael (pm3-16-ppp-4.powercom.net) Great site- I have a 1985 Ice Blue MR2 and I have used your site a couple of times - advice about replacing exhaust should be listened to; Thanks I love these cars but living in Wisconsin and the salt/rust problems in the rear are just too much for me.

Thank you very much ! Eddy
Sun Jan 17 18:15:20 1999 G. Alvarez (spider-tm043.proxy.aol.com) Undoubtfully the best car ever built by Toyota Motors Corp. I recently bought a 93' RED MR2 stock, not that i have any complains, but I wish i could upgrade for maximum acceleration. I want for it to be the: "Eclipse-240SX-Integra-Celica-Boxter-Z3-CLK230-Miata Killer from Hell." If any enthusiast wants to give me a hand write to me with your suggestions Muchas Gracias!!! :-)
Sun Jan 17 18:46:41 1999 kiran (ddevani.demon.co.uk) Just bought my dream car a 1994(nov)BLACK GTS TURBO(Japanese). This car is unreal, unbelieveable rush.
Sun Jan 17 20:11:29 1999 Sidney Cole (host-209-214-86-166.ath.bellsouth.net) I really like this site, I've gotten a lot of good information here before and I'm hoping someone can help me now. Today I had a amp and cd changer installed in my MKII. I had it done at Circuit City which now I regret. The problem is now I have engine noise that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. The installer told me that because my car is mid-engined and the wires to the amp go through/near the engine(and ECM) I am going to get the noise. They put a filter on the amp but the noise is very loud and noticeable. Also can anyone tell me how I can get some bass in my car. I don't want a box or anything behind the seat. Will four in midrange's fit in the back panels. Thanks.
Mon Jan 18 09:36:38 1999 Mungo Graeme Robertson (webcacheW05a.cache.pol.co.uk)
Mon Jan 18 10:07:34 1999 Alan H. (abs-tpa.packet.net) Just bought a pair Toyo Proxes T1 Plus tires for the back of my '93 Turbo. THREE WORDS -- VERY STICKY & QUIET!! These tires kick ass! I would recommend them for anyone shopping for new tires!
Mon Jan 18 15:05:47 1999 Paul Larson (mailhost.emeryworld.com) Bought an immaculate '91 Turbo T-Top, black leather, Nautical Blue last fall. Had a blast touring the Oregon winery country in it. I plan to upgrade the brakes, wheels/tires before moving on to the engine. Lots of MkI and MkII MR2s around here (Portland). Hilly terrain -> curvy roads -> sports cars!
Mon Jan 18 16:57:44 1999 Rich Umfleet (pm1-158.milescity.mcn.net) I love my 86! 142,000 miles and it still screams when I let it. I live in Montana where there is no speed limit, so she screams as much as she wants!
Mon Jan 18 22:40:21 1999 Brett Stacey (hoard.cache.thenap.net) My BABY is a '94 NA, flame red w/ t-tops. I purchased the MR2 in January of '98 w/ only 7900 miles!! The car is the most affordable exotic available-- I swear it loks like a baby Ferrari 348!!!!! (My Ohio plates read LIKA4RE). The car now has 18,500 miles, mainly racked up in the spring and summer on excursions from here in Lancaster, Ohio to Windsor, Ontario and Atlanta, Georgia. The car always left me with a big grin, especially when removing the t-tops!! The car now sits in my garage, anxiously awaiting the cinders and salt brought on by the brutal weather to wash away. So far, I have upgraded to OZ Monte Carlo 16" rims w/ Pirelli P7000 tires (the rears only last 8,000 miles under "easy" driving--damned expensive at $450 to replace!!), a carbon fiber Momo shifter, and Razo carbon fiber drilled pedals. This spring or summer, I really want to upgrade the exhaust for a really nasty, "Ferrari like" sound. Any suggestions?? Again, one of the sweetest cars ever produced in Ja! pan...now, only if Toyota would bring it back to the States!!!
Wed Jan 20 03:27:52 1999 Michael (56k-palm-00-21.dial.qnet.com) I love my MR2!

Wed Jan 20 18:50:18 1999 mike (pool044-max11.ds10-ca-us.dialup.earthlink.net) To the guy asking about the G-force upgrade. It makes a big improvement. We had a group purchase several months ago and paid around $600 each. I believe there are 40 or more owners with the upgrade. A southern california member had it dynoed and has the results are on his page. I think the hp gain was near 30hp. email for more info.
Wed Jan 20 22:01:03 1999 Joe (spider-wb063.proxy.aol.com) Just bought my first MR2 and wish it was spring time.it makes driving fun again it's a black 86 and have tried to max it but the roads last that long. every car should drive this nice.

Thu Jan 21 11:38:59 1999 Cher (151.188.23.114) Hey. I have a 1995 Toyota MR2 that i am in LOVE with. I just don't know how anybody out there could live without one :) I love my little MR2 sooooo much. I just wanted to say that this is a really cool site, and it gives info on the MR2 to people that don't know anything about the MR2. Thank you so much. Why i tell people that i have a Toyota MR2, they look at me like i am absolutely nuts. But, little do they know, that the MR2 is a wonderful car. Thanx for reading, CHER
Thu Jan 21 15:28:51 1999 Ben Kalfus (CNCNB104-35.splitrock.net) I am the proud owner of a stock 1987 Toyo MR2, but don't have very good net-skillz. Could someone please tell me how to join the club MR2.
Fri Jan 22 13:34:19 1999 Dick McGee (dmcgee.ccsn.nevada.edu) Glad to hear that there is a club like this! Nice Website! I have a 1991 yellow MR2, from Canada, with no air and no rear spoiler. Kind of unusual. After 5 Porsches, an MG, and an RX7, this is by far the best sports car I've ever owned. Long live the MR2!! Dick McGee

Fri Jan 22 21:11:02 1999 Dave Lease (spider-tr032.proxy.aol.com) I bought a 91 mr2 (NA) in Sept 98 and it is hot! It has 32,000 miles on it and it was detailed every 6 months since (not a speck of dirt on it). It rides and handles like a dream. It is red and turns heads anywhere it goes. I'm trying to find inexpensive upgrades for it, that don't require a lot of work. I have a K&N filterchanger and there's a slight improvement. Bring back the MR2 to the USA!
Sat Jan 23 01:05:07 1999 joey g. (spider-tf053.proxy.aol.com) It's just amazingly great and for someone with an insatiable appetite for information its definitely helpful. I only wished i would have known earlier.By the way i own 91 turbo.
Sat Jan 23 01:36:17 1999 Michael Dukes (tcr-06-48.pdx.du.teleport.com) Just Bought a '95 MR2 today--something I've dreamed about for too long! I drove home with a smile from ear to ear as as I delightfully shifted gears and accelerated down the highway. Love it! Just hope I go a while without speeding tickets! I plan to visit this site very often--as I truely appreciate the uniqueness and one of a kind nature the car. Thanks for putting together such a cool site! -Michael, Portland, OR

Mon Jan 25 01:47:45 1999 Adam Miller (ppp141.cu.soltec.net) Bought a '91 red NA last fall. Added Tokico Illuminas, Intrax springs, 15" alloys and an HKS intake. Loved autocrossing it and can't wait for spring. Still wondering if there is a supercharger application for this (2.2 L) motor.
Mon Jan 25 02:00:01 1999 Toby Normoyle (fwsrv.city.miki.hyogo.jp) Interesting site! In America I own a 1989 Orange Pearl Mica Supercharged MR2; however, I live in Japan now and this Friday I finally get to own a MkII. So I found your site looking for pictures to show my friends here at school I work for. I found the section on the meaning of the name MR2 interesting. Once, when I was shopping for my Orange '88, a certain Toyota dealer in Ohio had a Toyota standup advertisment with a book on their cars attached. It gave the origin of all the names of their cars at the time and listed MR2 as Mid-Engine, Rear Wheel Drive, 2 seater. I really wanted to take MR2 page, but the dealer said they could not give it away. But anyway, great site, if phone calls and the internet were not so expensive here in Japan I would visit it more often.
Mon Jan 25 05:15:34 1999 Freddie (spider-wg014.proxy.aol.com) This site is really helpful and educatoinal to people like me who are thinking of buying one. Unfurtunately we have to buy it used due to the fact that Toyota stoped shipping it to the United States. I'm thinking of buying a 94 or 95 turbo. I live in Southern California and import racing scene is really popular and i'm thinking of modifying it for quarter mile races. I know the MR2 has a lot of potential to offer. Now the problem is looking for it which is really rare.
Mon Jan 25 15:40:49 1999 Robert Martin (dialup12-10.ccp.com) I think it is a great idea to a this website I enjoy my supercharged mr2 and it is great to know that there are others who do as well.
Mon Jan 25 17:00:56 1999 phil howell (user69.gilroy.com) hey what do you mean where did all the 85's go? I own an 85mr2 with 190,000 miles on it but it still boasts 175psi per cyl. and aprox 165hp with some light mods.
Tue Jan 26 06:21:47 1999 martin (server209.lawsonmardon.com) Nice web site interesting reading about the Mr Two as we call them as features were taken from Nuccio Bertone's X1/9 italian sports car, one of the first mass produced mid-engined sports car. Check out our club web site at x1-9ownersclub.org.uk Perhaps our clubs can get together somtime in the future.Best regards M.D

Wed Jan 27 11:49:07 1999 KEVIN P. MAGDYCZ (ranger.mestekinc.com) GREAT WEBSITE!! I AM A VERY PROUD OWNER OF A WHITE NA 1993 MKII WITH 51,000 PAMPERED MILES. RECENTLY THOUGH, I HAVE BEEN HAVING A SLIGHT TRANSMISSION LEAK, AFTER TAKING IT TO MY TOYOTA DEALER THEY TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION SEAL WAS SHOT. NOT BELIEVING IT, I TOOK A LOOK FOR MYSELF AND ALSO FOUND THE INNER AXLE BEARING WAS ALSO SHOT. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM??? ANY KIND OF HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. YOU CAN REACH ME AT KMAGDYCZ@JUNO.COM
Thu Jan 28 01:43:43 1999 Felipe Ramirez (sdn-ar-002flflauP129.dialsprint.net) Just bought a red '93 Mr2 Turbo, power everything, T- Tops, black interior, When I say mint i mean flawless, I'm so excited, I don't know what to say. I"ll share this much I payed 11 for it, with only 53k!!!
Thu Jan 28 03:20:50 1999 Brian Gaden (128.249.190.122) Once again, great site! The tech tips section has been very useful indeed. I love this car too much to part with it ( 92 Red NA ). With a new baby in the family, the wife wants a 4 seater ( Maybe a Dinan M3? ) but I want my mid-engine slot car. I only wish that I could find forced induction for the 5SFE motor. I heard somewhere that MR2pp in Colorado can do this modification. Does anyone else have information on this subject? I know I should probably just break down and buy a turbo but I REALLY don't want to part with my 2! Keep up the great work and thanks especially to Geoff S. Mark S. and the others for their technical expertise and tips. BTW, I have driven other mid-engine cars ( Porsche 914, Fiat x-19, Ferrari 308, that Pontiac thing) and I must say that the 2 is better than all. Sorry to tell the X-19 guy that the Fiat does not even come close!!!! Stay in the power band and power out of the apex. Have fun!!!
Thu Jan 28 03:25:43 1999 Brian Gaden (128.249.190.122) One more thing.... I have always had really good luck with Yokohoma tires. They stick to the road much better than any other tire with that kind of lifespan. I have had about 35K on my front tires and they still look new. They are great in wet weather also. As for the rears, well they don't last 50K but then again I don't think anything will the way I treat them! Parking the car and watching the smoke come off of them is always entertaining!!!
