I have enjoyed wandering through this site, and I must say that where net sites are concerned, this one pays exceptional detail to the subject at hand. That being the beloved MR2. I am surprised however by the lack of local IMOC chapters, Most of all that none have been estalished in Illinois.
My thanks for your efforts..

Hi,
I am finishing up the process of putting an '88 NA MR2 back on the road.
It moved under its own power for the firs time this past weekend. Transplanted a Japanese import engine in place of the blown engine that was in the car. My nephew got a big kick out of his first ride, since he's been helping me with the work.I plan to trick the car out some, but tastefully, in accord with my wife's wishes. I'm fabricating a street legal exhaust system from standard parts. I'm open to any reviews/suggestions for ignition, exhaust, suspension or other fixups that others have experience with.
Thanks

Looking for help!!
I have a '92 (Red) MR2 (I know about the infamous Red paint). To get to the point, I had religiously washed my car every weekend and waxed twice a month. The car is and has been kept in a garage for the most part. I got off my routine and am now noticing the "spotting" in various places. Does ANYONE recommend any type of buffing compound? I sampled some 3M Wash/Wax @ a place and it looked like it was taking it out but I can not locate the product in any stores (i.e., Pep Boys). Please let me know A.S.A.P. on any recommendations. I know the spots will come out, I just don't want to ruin my paint (which has held up well). Thank you. p.s., Any preference as to an HKS filter-charger or K&N?

Mr2's are dope i saw a sick one the other day....it had full roll bars, short shifter, 5" exhaust that went out through the middle right under the license plate and had it all burnt up, it had 17" rims on Toyos, a sound system, intercooler, upgraded intake exhaust header, racing seats, custom white paint, . It was all tricked and sick so I had to come look them up

Is there any mr2 (turbo) owners in the florida (central) that are interested in having meets, especially around the import drag events, etc.? I am currently building my mr2 to produce 550-600 hp for drag racing. Hopefully I will be ready in time for the Moroso event on April 11. So if your into the import drag racing scene or just interested in upgrades watch for the 93 red mr2 at the upcoming drag events! And yes there will be a full interior.I currently have no email address but in the next few days I will write back in with a way to contact me. Thanks.....

I didn't have time to look through the whole site, so this may be in there somewhere. At a toyota dealer recently, I was told that new MR2s will be available in the US soon. They will look a lot like the Porsche boxter and be called the MR2 Spider. Anybody hear about this?

I have owned my '85 for 2 years now. I started my 4 wheel drriving career with a '60 Austin Healy Sprite. This is big time better buggy. I use it as my daily commute vehicle. Five speed, sun roof, temp control and audio system are all fine. She does leak air @ windows and oil (1 qt/fill). Oil leak is a mistory. No smoke and no drip on ground. Any ideas?

I have a 1994 white turbo tan w/leather cd/am/fm 5 speed, 27,000 miles. I am the original owner. I bought it from Delray Toyota in Delray Beach, Florida. I have never had a single factory defect. It was manufactured perfectly. I keep it in the garage and try not to drive it execessively. I have a 1998 ford mustang that I use to get to work and drive my MR2 very couple of months on weekends.

Hellooooooo..... MR2 owners. Being part of the club of owners, I would like to say, Thank you TOYOTA, for a well built sport car which I love each and everyday drive. But the reason why I'm posting a messages is to tell MR2 owner to pick up the magazine "Car AND Driver" beacuse they feature the new and rebuilt MR-S. Great look if you like the boxer but hope they would have the turbo engine very soon. So pick one up and read the specs. Long live the road burner MR2 =)

I inherited/reclaimed an 85 mr2. Runs ok. it's a little smoky on startup. corners are dented, bumpers are spiderwebs. still drives nicely. firm brakes.responsive steering. I am a 240z owner. Stock Z cars are not nearly as responsive with wear and abuse over the years. Toyota builds a durable little gem. I will have a lot of fun against my z buddies at the course this summer.

I and a buddy both have '86 MR2's and love it!Saw your web site in Feb super Street mag, so thought I'd drop in to see what's what. I have 170k on this body, but put a used 1.6 motor in it about 5k ago (the motor had 65k on it). It has had some suspension, brake, exhaust mods, but is a daily driver. I am going to do a refurb on the body (usual rusted areas-rear quarters, front spoiler, etc).Drop me an e-mail if you get more organized, and if you start a newsletter, I'd be happy to pay a membership fee for more organization. Ciao!-Fred

Wow, I think I am the only girl... and the only older MR2 owner to sign!! I have a 1986 Red MR2, and I love it!! This site is AWESOME. My brother ownes a 1987 Metalic Gold (or something like that) MR2, and he's always having problems finding the answer to this or that for his car. (I don't worry about it, because my dad takes care of mine) But I will deffinatly tell him about such a resourseful site!! Thanks!

I am the original owner of a White 91 MR2 Turbo. I absolutely love it and it has given me very little trouble at all!
