Sun Jun 13 04:43:13 1999 Richard Pittman (house.iinet.net.au) I need information on the MR@ Mk 1. I live in Australia.
Sun Jun 13 05:43:55 1999 Johnnie Roberson (oahu-v90-189.cchono.com) Just bought a 88 MR2 SC (72,000 miles), so far it's been great...really great shape, not perfect though, but easily worth the $3500.00 I paid...it's a totally different experience from the muscle car(s) of my youth...even my 15 yr old son thinks this is a "cool" car for an 88' (it's so old). It has the T-bar (of course), 5-speed, power-windows/door-locks/mirrors, cruise, leather seats(pretty much gone), air conditioner, factory AM/FM cassete w/equalizer...I would like to try it keep as much as original as possible depending on availability of parts, etc. Here's to my good luck and having web sites dedicated to the MR2 will help out alot !
Sun Jun 13 17:37:33 1999 Matt Motal (proxy1-external.plstn1.sfba.home.com) Love the site. I'm 17 and looking to buy a used car in about 4 months. This site has convinced me that I want a MR2 for sure. If anyone's looking to sell their mkII turbo in a couple of months lemme know. Thanks.
Sun Jun 13 18:22:14 1999 Charlotte Attwood (cal-ab4-12.netcom.ca) I am seriously looking at purchasing an MR2, however, I have had some negative feed back from some of my co-workers and friends. I am searching the web to obtain more information on their dependability and latest model. I have found a 1986 model in Canada (automatic) which I am seriously thinking about buying, however, the price seems a bit high for that year of car (4,500.00) and I'm not sure what problems are inherent to this vehicle. I have been checking out the guestbook comments and am curious - what was the last year that Toyota manufactured the MR2. I thought that production line ceased around 1988.
Mon Jun 14 18:12:39 1999 KARL WILLIAMS (spider-wj081.proxy.aol.com) As of today 14June 99 I have become a proud owner of a 94 GT Turbo. Having hunted high and low for very specific requirements in my choice of MR2, remarkably I gained a royal flush and every single criteria has been met. Thanks to my importer, by Saturday I will be able to experience the exhilaration of what I consider one of the most complete sports cars ever. It is with thanks to the contributors to this WEB Site that I have had a huge amount of handling characteristics and roadcraft techniques confirmed. Being a superbike rider 1994 Kawasaki ZXR750L1 and CBX700SC Nighthawk, I have developed a heightened awareness and understanding of how roads and environmental conditions affect performance.....now to apply those plus additional advice to the MR2. Look forward to contributing my experiences and to continue to read your stories tips and advice. Karl Williams (Swindon England)

Fri Jun 18 19:36:57 1999 Dan Schmidt (156.46.27.178) I am the proud owner of a 1987 Champaign Toyota MR2, love the site, and love the car.
Sun Jun 20 07:59:23 1999 Joel Sheets (akron-216-196-24-175.raex.com) Hi MR2 buffs!....I screwed up the e-mail. This post is correct. I purchased a total cream puff 91 MR2 with only 35,000 miles. The first owner was a lady-non-smoker and I think she only drove it as a mid-life crisis relief tool. Once she realized that she was old and there was no turning back the clock, she gave up and sold the car to me...lucky me! It has all options except for the leather interior. This car belongs in a museum or in a vacuum to preserve its perfectness. Well, what good is a car if you can't use it?? So, I have decided to drive it if the weather is at least 70 degrees and the humidity is less than 75%. Of course I am trying to find a wax with sunblock in it and I am totally paranoid if anyone gets within 10 ft of my car. Too bad it is not a turbo. Im bummin. What can be done to increase the performance of this "too good to be true-why the heck did they stop making it" car? So far I have installed a K and N filter. The car seriously runs out of steam around 5000 rpm. Are there cams available that give a better! top end rush? Also, a driveability problem I noticed is at very light throttle position, the engine toggles between on and off....it makes it very difficult to drive smoothly....that along with a sticky throttle cable....any ideas to remedy this??? Ok well, I am writing a book here so the last chapter goes like this: My other rides are...87 Toyota 4x4 SR5 truck 85K miles...totally clean with original paint and stickers. 87 Toyota 4x4 plain jane work truck...clean except the bed 128K miles. 70 Corvette 350-350 horse 4-speed. undergoing some restoration work....a true muscle machine. 85 Ford escort...next years winter beater. 94 Honda CR250 Motocross....Gotta roost. 94 Yamaha YZF750R ....nothing is fast after riding this.....except for Yamahas 1000cc R1. Any MR2 performance tips are appreciated!!!!!! Engine is a 2.2 with a 5-speed. ---Joel email is Hotwheels01@hotmail.com
Sun Jun 20 08:10:57 1999 Joel Sheets (akron-216-196-24-175.raex.com) Porsche has some cool looking wheels on the C4 Turbo. I would like to stick somehing that looks like that on my Mk11. Wed Jun 23 16:42:46 1999 Danny L (pm90-s59-tier1.evansville.net) Toyota's slogan is "everyday". Everyday I look I dont see too many out on the road. Hopefully with the MR2 this will change. Yours Truly is looking into purchasing one, but alas, the closest one happens to be 172 miles from myself. :( Ah well, I can stick with Gran Turismo on the playstation, which is a very accurate reproduction of the actual cars performance characteristics. If you dont have an MR2, get Gran Turismo. You will enjoy yourself. PS. This is not spam, its just a recommendation, and a warning, because as soon as I get my MR2 ill make it into the fastest MR2 out there! >:)
Wed Jun 23 19:52:29 1999 PAUL MACALALAG (spider-wg034.proxy.aol.com)
Thu Jun 24 02:23:02 1999 Anthony Szetela (tampappp223.net.usf.edu) I have a '93 MR2 turbo, and for the most part it runs great. There is one problem that I would love to solve. Sometimes after driving for a little while and then coming to a stop the car idles extremely low. It idles so low it sometimes stalls out. One way to temporarily fix this is to rev it up to at least 5000 rpm's and then it idles normally. I have changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, had the injectors cleaned, and I run only 93 octane fuel. None of this has affected the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thu Jun 24 13:15:51 1999 Bob Mackey (fw.amcgrp.com) Has anyone here raced their MR2 against a VW Corrado SLC? I was just curious as to your alls perception or the comparison between the two vehicles.

Tue Jun 29 15:55:29 1999 Paul V. (proxy1.wilcom.com) HELP!!! I own a 93 MR2 na, 92K miles. The steering wheel is slightly tilted to the left when the tires are straight. The car also tends to drift in the right when i let the steering weel go in a flat road. Before I bought the car, the dealer said that all Toyotas have that slight tilt and does drift to the right. My friends Landcruiser has thesame problem. Is this really standard?? Is there a way I could cure this symptom??
