Recently I bought an American import 1985 red MR2 NA (no wing!). It's a fantastic car and the bodywork is still in almost perfect condition!! The engine needs some TLC but I'm working hard to get it in tiptop shape again. I live in the Netherlands and driving the MR2 over here is an absolute blast.
Anyway, great site, so keep up the good work!!

Enjoyed looking over your web page. I own a 1985 MK1 MR2 only 19000 miles from new. Never driven in the wet and that's nearly impossible in U.K, hence the low mileage. One benefit no rust as yet. Recently changed original exhaust to Magnex with K&N filter, seems to have increased power and one main advantage is that both parts should last the life of car.

Took my recently acquired '87 MK1 on its first "road trip". Just a short jaunt from Salem to Portland, but what a gass! Very fun to drive. Reminds me of a Fierro I had, only better! It's just an NA, but has plenty of punch. After getting off I5 at Portland, it had a tendency to idle way down, almost to stalling. Doesn't do this around town. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

1985 Mr2 Turquoise-Blue, black and blue interior.
I am in need of a right front fender, a right front headlight assembly and a front bumper. I am a new MR2 owner and was in an accident. The responsible party's insurance carrier called the car a total loss. I am just about at ground zero because I wasn't happy with the outcome and decided to keep the car. If anyone has extra parts, preferably in Turquoise-Blue, (I know, beggers can't be choosers) or knows where I can get them I would appreciate the help.

I have had a 1987 MR2 for about 6 months but last weekend I found my dream car. I got a 1988 MR2 SC . The car is blue and in great shape. The prievious oner got the car for her graduation present from college and has had it for 10 years. This is nice because she knew nothing about how mechanical things work and took it into the dealer every 3000 miles for service and had the record to prove it. I think I am in heaven. It is nice to a 50 year old rerun teenager with time for toys I could not afford the first time around.

Well i love this web page for one, and i love the MR2 as well. My mom got a dark green 86 MR2 in 1994 and as the years went buy she fell in love with this car as did I. I'm now 17 and my mom is selling the MR2 because she needed somthing bigger for her line of work. But she never wants to let it go. It will be hard to see it sell but that brings me to my point. I have a 96 Dodge Dakota and I'm selling it because i want a 91 MR2 Turbo. This car has a lock on me the way it feels when you drive it the 4 cylinder engine screaming behind you. I love the thrill of that car, and i'm glad all of you do as welll. So i would just like to say that i will help keep the MR2 dream alive and well. Thank you, Terrance butler (Canada B.C.)

My brother just bought a '91 MR2 non-turbo which runs well but once scared the
previous owner badly. While cautiously being driven at 35 mph on a straight
road near Reno with only an inch of snow, it abruptly and with no warning to
even this cautious driver, just lost traction and skidded off the road,
fortunately without damage. Is this well-publicized MR2 misbehavior
overcomeable to some effect with some modern brand of winter tire? Also, how
does one fix a non-functional trip odometer or even get access to it? Thanks,

I own a 1988 MR2 MK1 in Australia and with the roads in the national parks it is a car that is a lot of fun to drive. Shame about the intolorence of the police officers who treat you as criminal if you go even slightly over the speed limmit.
It is great to see such a following of the MR2 from all around the world, and for a car that is not a Ferrari or some other wank of a supercar. Keep up the good work!

I'm looking for a set of OE 93 and up rims for my 92 Turbo. Tires not necessary. I've looked on the classified section for weeks with no luck. Please email me if you have a set for sale. I also have a Trust (Greddy) stainless steel ex. for sale (no rust, very few dings, always polished, etc) for $350 shippinh included ($325 w/o shipping). Would be willing to trade for 93 rims Sorry for the ad here, but I can't find the rims anywhere. With the proper offset, I assume they would fit my 92 Turbo. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. Also, one last thing: If anyone has any HONEST 1/8 or 1/4 mile times from their MR2's, either stock or otherwise. please email me or post them here. I am currently tuning mine, and am curious as to what other MR2's are running. I've seen people claim 13.6 in a bone stock MR2 Turbo. I hope they are lying...I'm not running that time with an exhaust, NGK plugs and wires, G-Force ECU, and increased boost (about 14 PSI). It is supposed to be a 14!
second flat car stock, but I don't know...most of my times were closer to 15 flat (stock), and I consider myself a pretty good driver (I often win my class autocrossing, have drag raced for years, etc). Granted, these times were in 95 degree heat, and cool weather makes a BIG difference in the performance of my car, but still...13.6 stock? Thanks for any responses or posts, and good luck with your MR2.
