I first fell in love with the Mk1 MR2 in 1998. At the time I was driving around in a 88' XR3i and thought it was the business. Now I am the proud owner of an 85 95000 mile silver 'miniture Ferrari'. Would I go back? NO, am now too attatched to the envious glances of other drivers. Best feeling this year? Cant quite decide between seeing my car in a book called 'Fantasy Cars' or the first night I drove it! ( Was accompanied by a stunning looking lady that night, so I think that clinches it!) I just wanted to say hi to all the mr2 owners out there worldwide. I live in san francisco, ca. i have a 86 na with jap spec 4age, clear turn signals, intrax springs, tokico hp shocks, sc rims, thermal exhaust, sleepy headlights, 87+ talights with red turn signals, and euro side markers. I was wondering does anybody know where to get the housing for sleek light kits like the ones in good japanese conversion kits and the red miata that's always at car shows. I purchased a wonderful '89 MR2 N.A. about two months ago. Words cannot describe how much I love to drive this car!!! The only problem is, my wife is pregnant!!!! We found out within a week of my buying the MR2, so I guess I just have bad timing.
The problem is that I need to sell the car now!!! That sucks, because if my wife weren't pregnant, I would NOT be selling. I am trying to work out a way to keep the car, but it isn`t looking good. Some info on the car: Super red, 5spd., t-tops, grey/black cloth int., PW, PDL, PMirrors, factory am/fm cassette, excellent condition with VERY FEW flaws. She has been garaged for the last six years and only driven in summer. I am the 3rd gentle owner. The 2nd owner only put 30K miles on in 6 years. I just turned over 63K miles. I have a title search document confirming the dates and mileage over both previous owners. Clean title, never been wrecked or even dinged!! Every time I type all this info, I try a little harder to find a way to keep her!!! Please respond and take her off my hands!! My wife and my wallet will thank you!!! Asking $7500, but negotiable...

It's all about the Mid-engined beauty. They won't make another car like it. I am the new proud owner of an excellent condition '88 Supercharged and my brother is an even prouder owner of a 95 super red turbo with only 22K miles. Both are special in there very own way, and both are head turners. My bro's MR2 gets more looks than a Porsche Carrera with the bright red paint, 16" TOM's wheels, Greddy BOV, low-profile look. If you can get your hands on an authentic Wide-boy 2000GT kit, it looks sicker than any Italian Supercar (IMO). I think the non-street version costs around $9000

Our son has to prise the keys from Mick to get a drive.
Every one looks and points at it and says "wow"

I first started looking at this website before buying the MR2 - I was gonna get an MX5 (cheaper) but got an MR2 T-Bar G-Limited instead. This website is FANTASTIC!!! I'm in the UK and we don't get the Turbo or Convertible models - tho I might get an imported Convertible next. My car's speedo just became disconnected so I have to get that fixed and this orange light on the bottom left came on and now has gone out again (anyone know what that means?) - one of the side lights fused at the same time too.
I wash the car every week (used to be every few days) - I need to get an amp fitted to the woofers under the seats. I drive it real slow but once a month I take it to around 6000rpm to 'clean' it out. I get jittery everytime my wife drives it (I got married a month ago and had to get her insured!)
I love my MR2! It sometimes complains at me saying I don't drive it hard but it forgives me on that occasion, once a month!

I own a 1985 MR2 that only had 52,000 original miles when I bought it (and this was in 1997). The previous owners had no idea what a gem they had. Your web page is very impressive and I would enjoy learning more about the car.

Hi, just wanted to say that i thought this is a good site. Also I have recently purchased an Imported Toyota Mr2 Turbo which I've found to be great fun to drive. Plus will be gettin it chipped very soon which i am told should take it to around 280bhp. Which I am lookin forward to. If anyone has had any probs with chippin then gice us a message.
