I own a 1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo (known in the U K as a Japanese import. We currently use the car for competition doing Sprints & Hillclimbs (on Tarmac)throughout the U.K. I have visited your Pages on several occasions and have found them to be an extremely valuable source of information. I am at presently modifying the suspension on the car, i.e. I have removed the original spring platforms and replaced them with threaded bushes so as to enable me to use 2.250 i.d. bore springs, also with using threaded bushes it gives the opportunity of adjustable ride height. I have also had rose joints placed on the inboard ends of the front and rear track control arms. If anybody would like any further information - please E Mail. Needless to say, I am delighted with my Toyota MR2 Turbo. My E Mail address is
jgall44@hotmail.com.

I Love everything about my Super White 87 Mister2. I bought it in july of 99
About 3 weeks ago Me and a friend put the bad boy on jacks and started to redo
my whole car. The good thing is, is that theres not that much work to do. We
are repainting it the same color with some crazy ass Patriot blue pearl strips. I plan on purchasing some racing wheels and having my engine rebuilt before something happens. Hey, you can never be to careful.

hello my wife and i each own a mr2. the first is a 86 automatic , all power with sunroof. a great car until now.
interrmit no start. has fuel , spark, checked all relays, fuses. think its the computer. following flow charts, but not experienced at diagnostic techniques, anyone?
if not, going to trade in on sport ute. never fear, i will buy another, this time with a five speed, some trd parts and even some NOS for extra kick. the other mr2 is a 91 turbo with a nasty exhaust leak, that after i had to fix a coolant leak right under the exhaust manifold. does anyone know of the little 3 inch rubber hose i am referring to? if not , just wait! i want to sell it and buy a 88 or 89
with a 5 speed, no power and autocross it. every car has its problems but few can match the fun factor of the mr2
my friends say it looks like a go cart. i say exactly!

I once met a guy named Steve that loved his MR2. He had a senior picture taken with it and now I can understand why!!!

How about a drag race times stats for the race section? Im not a huge drag racer but it is easier to standardize than autocross, obviously. Just athought, great page though.

Hi, I live in Canada and have owned a 1985 MR2 since 1990. The car has been a pleasure to own and drive. I lived for two years in England and imported my left-hand drive MR2 into that country to drive for 2 years. The car drew constant attention and admiration.
I intend to permanently keep the car hoping in another 10 years it will begin to increase in value.

the site was nice...when it was frequently UPDATED. i dont want to see the 1999 imoc fundraiser banner no more. this is an insult to all mr2 owners. the toyota mr2 is an ELITE car. seeing "last updated august 8, 1999" captions need to go. please someone take care of this problem as soon as possible. lets all be proud of a site we can brag about to other car owners that is at least updated more than twice a year.

Hi,
IS this site every updated? Its been 3+ years since they updated the owners list on this site and it still says 99 IMOC fundraiser. 3 years is a long time.
Fri Jan 21 18:02:06 2000 Richard (spc-isp-osh-uas-04-16.sprint.ca)
Just a note; we've found out that the AW11's motor has one specific weak link. The crank will only with stand around 200hp(ie: the 42mm s/c)the s/c rods have been good to 225 with some work tuffriding and good rod bolts. We blew out 2 cranks while testing on the dyno. I reccomend finding at least a used billet crank from one of the GT-3 or Atlantic builder before using big bump sticks and valves or putting juice(NOS) on the motor.

This is a great site! Lots of good resources. I'd like to share a little personal horror story i recently had... I have a 1993 MR2, and I love it, even in the bad winter driving conditions of Northeast Ohio. However, the alternator bearing recently committed suicide- normally not a big issue, right? Well, it turns out that the MR2 has an unusual (read as NOBODY STOCKS IT) alternator, that costs $200.00-320.00. Kind of high, but not the best part... To change this alternator, you have to put the car up on a lift, remove the entire exhaust system, drop part of the subframe that holds the transaxle assembly onto a support stand, and THEN wriggle the old/new alternator through the resultant miniscule gap. It took 3 Toyota technicians 2 1/2 hours to accomplish this, not wasting time (I was watching the whole time) and even they said it was one of the most complicated procedures they had yet done. They even had to call some Toyota tech line to find out how to do it... I hope n!
ot too many other people get to share in this experience!
Mon Jan 24 12:12:07 2000 Simon (155.147.202.152)
Obviously the person or persons who run this site haven't read the guest book yet. It is January 24, 2000 and I still see that old 1999 imoc fundraiser banner. I guess ya'll just decided to give up and do something else better with your time. Well, I wont be surprised if this site finally gets updated next year.

Looking for an exclusive car, as rare as a Ferrari? Absolutely reliable? With a 100% "turn-the-head-at-it"-Factor? Choose an MR2!
I own a 1989 MR2 (MK I). The best choice I could have ever made! No problems whatsoever, no rust. It sticks on the road like glue! Topspeed is 210 km/h (Iīve checked it out myself on the Autobahn). Let all the other ignorants drive these boring everyday cars-they donīt know what they miss!

Sat Jan 29 21:21:21 2000 Thad Francois (ww-bbs41.wwbbs.net)
I have owned three Mr2's an '89,'88, and an '85 model. My current model is the '85 model in which I plan on doing the most I can with it. I originally bought the car for $200.00 which was a blessing. The only thing that was wrong with it that was a major problem that the head gasket was torn and alowed antifreeze to mix with the oil causing a close to near complete engine over-haul, but if any one has any information about it please e-mail me
