I love this site and look at it very often to get new informations, also from other owners. I come from germany, where the MR2 is not very often to see. Since I´ve seen a red one in 1990 at the Côte d´Azur at the French riviera, I want to have one. Now, since 4 years, I have a black MR built in 1993 with 156 hp and I am very proud about it. Also there are nearly no problems except some waterdrops from the back of the targa roof. And he is great enough to drive to the golf course with my golfbag. Before the MR2 I had 2 VW Golf cabrio´s, but it´s n o comparision.

I am the proud owner of a 1993 mr2, I purchased it 6 mo. ago from the original owner who kept it in storage for several years.It has very low miles. Its a non-turbo. yellow, t-top. Its truly a joy to drive, and gets many looks, and offers to purchase. The only thing I changed is the wheels and tires, I put on 16" Dunlop sport 9000. What a difference that makes,

My wife and I bought a 1989 red MR2 about a year ago. It is an automatic and am told it is fairly rare. It has T-tops also and we really enjoy driving it with the tops out. Here in mid Missouri summer evenings are great for open air driving. Are there any other MR2 enthusiasts in Mid-MO?

I purchased in mid march of 2000 the first MR2 spyder sold in the USA. The toyota dealer informed me of this since I pre ordered my car 5 months ago. He will be providing me with proof of such. I have a 91 turbo and seem to have a problem with my stock stereo. My CD player plays my cd's, but you can barely hear it even with the volume turned all the way up. I'm thinking that there's a bad connection with the wires or something. Anyone with any info please e-mail me.

My wife and I have just ordered a new 2000 MR2 Spider. We hope to have it in a few weeks (or Months?) We have owned another mid engine sports car in the past, a 1986 xxxxx GT in the past, a very good concept car but the quality was very poor so it was not so much fun to own or keep running. We have had many Toyotas and we know their quality is outstanding. Therefor we are excited to get our hands on this new MR@ Spider. Is ther a club either in Florida or Ohio? We would like to join and participate in the future when we get our car.

I've recently bought a 1991 MR2 turbo (jap.) Yellow T-bar with a 355 kit. Stunning car! It has a few problems (nothing major) but I don't know where I would be without everyones info. Because I don't know much about turbos. Excellent site with excellent contacts!!!! Keep up the good work everyone.

MR2s rule!! My 4 cylinder turbo has beaten many V8s.. It just makes me laugh when I think they have more than twice the displacement I do.. Not to mention I bought a 91MR2T for only $5900 and I'm sure some of those kids paid more than $20k for their Mustangs and Camaros... : P

I just bought a 2000 MR2 and was hoping there was a club magazine available similar to the Miata Club of America. So far, I haven't been able to find one. Does one exist?
By the way, it's an awesome car, and the Miata doesn't come close to the styling or handling, which I've had for 8 years.

Just purchased an 86 and love it. I have been wanting one for years and finally decided to get one. Although in pretty good shape it will need to have the rear quarters panels replaced soon. I am looking for a supplier for these, perhaps aftermarket, and a supplier for other options. I am primarily looking for cosmetic options. Since I am a new owner any suggestions woudl be appreciated. I am looking forward to a long life with this wonderful car.

I am finally an owner of a 1987 NA MKI. For five years, ever since I drove an old girlfriends' 1993 NA, (automatic trans. even) MKII, I have lusted after these cars. And finally I find one, albeit a little banged up, with 107,000 mile on it, with a rebuilt engine, for 1000 bucks. I don't really know if I made out, but it still feels damn good to fnally own one. I've just purchased a 87 MR2. I needed tech info and was happily surprise to find this site. The car is a pleasure to drive. For an older vehicle it more than holds its own. After months of searching for a new used auto, i answered an ad for an MR2. I made an appt. to meet the guy the next day, knowing i was looking for a 4 door sta. wag. etc. You know, the basic family car that i have been used to owning for the past 25 yrs. or so. You know, the practical vehical. Golf clubs and all. The perfect REC. vehicle. Yeah, right. I get to the appointment on time, see this perfect little red MR2, thinking the guy drove this here to meet me to tell me he'll drive me to the car. WRONG. This is the car. Beautiful. So, in jest, i ask can in get my golf clubs in here? HA HA. He opens the boot and theres two sets of clubs laying there. OK, what next? Test drive in the rain. The T-tops don't leak, thats a plus. Perfect is the only way to describe the MR2. I thought, well, it's a 1988, old, use, tired. Thats what i get for thinking. Immaculate is the only way i can describe it. Needless to say, i bought the car, on the spot. My first MR2. Al!
l of my riders say its like a Go-cart. My thought exactlly, and any one who owns one, right? More days on the mountain roads will tell me more. More sunshine so i can take the T's off would be better, but thats life in the mountains in the spring in the Sierra Mountains. Be Well all.

certainly not the mr2.. this 86 of mine is all engine, chassis and super quality.... I need to do suspension work.. but rest assured oh crazy fellow mr2 freaks.. I shall throw the mr into tight hairpins and sweeping righthanders here in houston without a slippery hesitation or gutwrenching consciousness..... surprsingly, the car is not a gizmo car.. luckily......
for us..... the car is all balls and brains..... especially the supercharged model.. whooey..... for now my na will have to do..... hell I haven't spun the wheels or the car once.. and hell.. I'm no turtle with a broken leg....
anyway,..... must go and find some midnite metallic blue paint.... hmmmm ideas and visions in my head.... Ali
