I'm a proud owner of a Red 91 mr2 turbo Japanese model ie right hand drive. There are only a handfull of them here in Barbados and they get alot of attention. Insuring them is a killer though. It is standard with Michelin pilots (205/50/15) and (225/55/15)and a single pipe Blitz exshaust. No problems, it works perfect.

whats the value of a 95 turbo ,fully loaded, with about 60k in extra clean cond. going for.....just curious. i personally think the mr2 is one of toyotas untapped resources. not much out handles this car. unless you are tring to hang with a 911 0r vette. i drive a 91 and look to purchase an extra clean 95 model soon ..... if i can find one

I bought an MR2 a few months ago it's out of this world, the difference with my little babe is that it has been built as a racing car and there's not another anywhere like it. spoilers. suspension the lot, it even had a new paint job done on it because it's such a stunning special car, it shouldn't really be on the roads it's a show car but i just have to, everyone stop me to ask what it is and would I sell it. (it's up for sale now) I've just bought another this also a one off TURBO but has been sprayed a two tone pink, sounds awful? well most people that stop me are FELLAS to ask me about the car, it's beautiful but Oh so FAST!!!!! LOVE THE SITE.

Lots of good stuff. Here's an interesting tip....the V-6 engines (such as 3.4 liter 5V-FE) bolt on to the MR2 Turbo transmission. '92-'93 Camry V6 oil pan and pickup tube allow transverse installation. The truck block already has locating pin hole and bolt holes for the right short shaft. Of course, the TRD supercharger would stick out of the engine cover....so everybody would know! Also, the aluminum V6 will bolt on..... all food for thought.

Yes, it's back !!!! MR2 Spyder 2000 model year, but only 5000 units in USA this year..... and call me LUCKY, but I've got one!
It's all that it intends to be, lightweight fun toy car.
According to the 'trunk' lid under the hood, the designation is 'Midship Runabout'
I'm having great fun with it here in Arizona.

I just bought an '89 Supercharged MR2 with 54,000 miles on it. I want to work it an make it a whole lot faster eventually. I have a couple of questions and problems that I hope someone can help me with. 1) Is there anything I should do first to the car before I start putting bolt-ons on, 2) can I make an automatic Mr2 as fast as a manual like with shift kits for the auto trans. 3) should you run synthetic oil in a supercharged engine that has been run on conventional oil for the first 54,000 miles? I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions as time passes, so, talk to ya'll soon.

I am considering purchasing a 92 MR2 non-turbo. It appears to run fine but the owner informed me that upon cold startup in the morning it tends to smoke a little due to a known problem with substandard valve guide seals. He claims a dealer could easily repair this but he hasn't because the oil never appear low between changes. I am new to the MR2 and could find no reference to this on this site. Can anyone tell me if this is really a known problem? Any additional advice would be appreciated.

Hello my MR2 bretheren my car is back on the road again and I have realized that Toyota dealer service sucks!!! first they misdiagnosed the problem with my car and then when they "fixed" my car which was only a week later than they promised the mechanic that worked on my car (the same guy I bought the car from. which was his winter beater.) "forgot to reattach the engine mounts glad I didn't run into any honduhs cause my car would have been finnished then a week later I noticed a "small" eight inch puddle in my driveway consisting of gear oil (my car was in for tranny work!) it turns out that he (my mechanic) stripped a bolt and didn't think to replace it I filled it back up and plugged the hole and now they want to fix the problem by putting the old tranny back in! which is what they told me what was wrong with it in the firstplace but now they say that it is fine and it was my linkages. so if there is any body that can recommend a good shop to me that is affordable and does !
quality work and knows an MR2 please fill me in I live in St.Catharines Ont. Canada. and bear in mind I am an assistant manager at a gas station.
on another note I want a little more HP so far I have an HKS mushroom filter and a custom adapter on the intake side and a costum center exit exhaust I was thinking nitrous? can my my engine take it? and how much? 50,75,150? and headwork there is a speedshop by my work that wants to do my head where should they spend their time intake or exhaust? oh by the way I have a 1985 AW11 with a N/A 4AGE and it IS THE GREATEST CAR EVER PRODUCED!!! so if there is anyone out there in MR2 land that can give me some advice or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appriciated.
