Mon Sep 4 08:17:59 200 Franklin Williams (208.59.160.100) First, I'm totally impressed with the truly professional job the originator of this website has done! I love my 1985 MR2. (52,000 original miles). All I can say, is that the MR2 is a quiet secret! I've had my own business as an automotive purchasing consultant in years past. I've had nice cars, but you have to drive one to see how much a joy it is! The quality and workmanship is rarely seen today, except for a few model cars. My background is in Electrical Engineering and I'm a financial analyst. The MR2 is superbly engineered and the cost factor, in regard to quality and longevity ranks with the best! Doylestown, PA.

Thu Sep 14 14:33:46 200 V. Hoornstra (gw.pcatv.org) Nice site we have here! I recently purchased a blue '85 MR2, man, what an excellent car! I just mail-ordered a K&N filter kit for it, but after doing some research, it seems that the K&N is nice for racing due to its superior airflow, but not a good choice for long-term street use due to the way it allows dust & dirt to slip by, despite what the ads say. So, I'm going to pay the restocking fee and ship it back on my own dime... better to lose a few bucks than dirty up my engine, the extra HP gain just isn't worth it. Foam filters seem to have the same problem with passing dirt as the K&N, from what I've read. So, for an alternative, does anyone have any info on how to mount a stock-style paper airfilter so that it is open like the K&N design? I'd like to ditch the restrictive stock intake tubing and airbox, but still use a paper filter for its superior filtering properties. My goal is to enhance breathing efficiency for a bit of extra power and maybe even better gas mil! eage, but not at the cost of crudding up my engine. Thanks for the bandwidth!

Sat Sep 23 18:07:39 200 Bruce Karsch (1Cust141.tnt1.bay-st-louis.ms.da.uu.net) I bought a 85 mr2 with 106,000 miles and have driven it for one week (9,22,00). In that one week I am so impressed with it that I could kick myself for not getting one sooner. It runs so smooth and handles so well that It IS the best car I've ever owned. (and I'm 44 years young)lol. The engine runs so quiet and the trans. goes into gear with no effort. It has a 1600 4 cyl. engine that is more than enough power, and has plenty of get up and go.If you are thinking about geting one I would highly recomend doing so! Ps. I only payed $2,100 and the car is very clean on the outside and in. If you would like to talk to me about my "Mid-life moble" feel free to drop me an "E" and I will get back to you "Bruce"
Sun Sep 24 02:40:18 200 The Little Red Menace (lsanca1-193-236.dsl.gtei.net) I just got my '89 normally aspirated MR2, and i must say its incredible the performance that the vehicle attains with only 106 hp at its disposal. Combine that with its very impressive handling and quick turn-in and my seemingly mild-mannered relic better equipped for the junkyard shows its true colors....flashing yellow as i let my turn signal blink once to let you know i've just passed you at 140mph bone stock...and i haven't even tached out the motor yet >=) now if i could only find aftermarket performance items for it, perhaps i could be weaving through traffic as though it were standing still at 160.....any suggestions?
Sun Sep 24 10:56:36 200 jasen (spider-wk024.proxy.aol.com) i would like to join i have a 91 mr2 N/a i have some questions too would like to talk to some knowledgeable mr2 people

Wed Sep 27 08:45:39 200 alex pirillis (pixpat.methode.com) This car rocks!! I have a 1985 MR2 and I love it!! There are a few things wrong with it, but it still performs like new and I push it every day. I want to completely restore it and buy a 2000 model next year to drive for every day. I bought it with 38,000 miles on it 2 1/2 years ago and it has 76,500 miles on it now. I paid $4,270 for it and it was worth every penny. Now this style of car is hot on the market and for a good reason; a light, nimble car performs wonderfully. Anyone who loves stick shift should have this car, or at least drive it once in their lives. Whoo hooo!~!~!~!~!~l
Thu Sep 28 03:03:00 200 Roberto Decio (bw2-235pub119.bluewin.ch) I have a 2000 MR2 spyder, and before a had a 1987 MR2. Great car.
Thu Sep 28 08:23:56 200 Bob Crawford (spider-tl083.proxy.aol.com) I purhcased my MR2 new late in 1990,and have enjoyed it since. Mine is the 2.2 which I'm always looking for performance enhancements for. I've install a K&N filter, Jacobs ignition and other odds and ends for improvement. I have been searching for an aftermarker supercharger but have so far been unsuccessful. I have been reading on the installation of the turbo 2.0, but was hoping to generate the low end torque or a supercharger for city driving, rather than the high end torque of the turbo. Has anybody thouht of installing the V-6 from the Camry sinch the Camry also had the 2.2? TRD makes a supercharger this it. Over the years and 150,000 fun miles I've lowered it, installed 17" rims, added a MOPAR six pack hood scoop to the engine cover and had it repainted in clearcoat due to the original paint wanting to oxidize. The car has been fun and reliable. While I was excited about the new MR2, I cannot give up the capability to carry golf clubs and luggage for week end getaways. I've had a rust issue on the two support / stiffening rods located under the rear pan. They appear to add addtional support to the trunk area. Both of these supports rusted and broke in two. I've had no other rust anywhere else on the car. The found that when I had luggage or weight in the rear trunk, I would hear a rattle on either side whenever I was on rough pavement or hit a bump. Is this a common problem?
Thu Sep 28 21:50:49 200 PAENG VANG (proxy.sna.netsetter.com) I HAVE A 93 N/A MR2 ALL STOCK. I'M GOING FOR 100 SHOT OF NOS BY THE END OF OCT.2000. WILL MY ENGINE BLOW UP. IF SO TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO PREVENT IT OR DO I HAVE TO SHOOT LESS NOS OR NOT AT ALL. THIS IS A COOL CAR, QUICK IN TRAFFIC. I ENJOY DRIVING IT EVERYDAY.
Sat Sep 30 13:25:41 200 Kurt Hoffman (ip28.portland.me.pub-ip.psi.net) The MR2 has always been one of my favorites and I never would have dreamed that one would roll into my life to be mine. I have an '89 regular with only 75,000 miles on it. It has never seen a winter, and I'm from Maine! I get looks all the time and I enjoy it most when I'm drivin' her topless!
