My 91Turbo, purchased new, now has 180,000+ miles...and I put them all on!
The engine has been rebuilt recently (175K), and mods include:
HKS intake
Eibach Pro-kit springs
MOMO Project 3 wheels
MOMO polished "ball" shifter...ferrari like.
Yoko AVS tires
Custom made "Y" exhaust w/ 4" polished resonated tips (2)> no muffler!!
Manual boost controller & Greddy Boost gauge (15psi)
Great car! LOVE IT...
Even the license plate says it all: SUDO 4RE

I done it!, three years after selling my last MR2 MkII with big regrets, I have just been out today and bought another MR2 MkII. Soft in the head, for sure, just plain daft, who cares, now I'm back to enjoying myself on the daily grind to the office and back .... sometimes it takes so little to make life sweet.

My Grandmother owned a 88 sc mk1 and it was supposed to be my 16 b/day present but she wrecked it about 3 weeks before... now 3 1/2 years later I saved enough to buy a 91 n/a with all luxuries but leather and only 74k on it.I honestly do beleive it would have to be one of the best cars i will probobly ever own and i cant say anything bad about the car. A few of my friends in Bel Air are starting a Bel Air chapter... Our logo is "YOU DREAM IT..." "WE DRIVE IT..." If anyone is ever in Bel Air stop by pep boys and ask for me and I can let you know what is going on with the Bel Air chapter!!!

i just bought a 91 mr2 turbo...and it is awesome. im only 16 years old and my father wouldnt let me get a 6 cylinder...so i decided on a turbo inline-4. i choice that has not yet bothered me...except when i race my friends 300zx....oh well.

This is one fun car to drive. I love the clover leaps around here, gives me a chance to have a little fun. Mine is an 86 with 150K and runs like it's brand new. The newer models just don't have the same kind of charisma as the original body style.

Hi,
I own a 1986 MR2. Currently, it has 185,000+ miles on the odometer.
I like driving it alot, believe it or not.
The only thing I hate is that it has plenty of legroom, but not enough headroom. I know it's a sports car, but really! Even a sports car needs to fit big guys like me with tall torsos.
I just hope the newer MR2s are any better

I just purchased my 1st MR2 & I already love it! I "happened upon a '93 NA with 46k miles while car shopping and could not get it off my mind even though I was not looking for a 2 seater. I am looking forward to a great time with this car. My only regret is that mine is automatic and not a 5 spd. Maybe next time.

mention that they handle like a dream. Well I have a funny story......
My father kept on preaching to me how I shouldnt get a two seater because
they werent at all practicall, well I let him drive my 94 MR2 just three
time when in less than a month he went out and got himself an 86 MR2
and hes loving it he cant stop talking about it. Just like me with mine
I love going out side and looking at the two MR2 parked outside my house
and if that wasnt enough my little sister is looking for one of her own!

Wow, a nice car by Toyota! I'm not too sure about the never models yet, but I have had significant experience with the Mark 1 & 2. My Mach 1 experience came from an 87 "Plain Jane" when I owned an 85 RX-7. We raced constantly, never sure who was superior. We upgraded together, he went for the intake, so I would throw on a Holley 650. We were head-for-head. Then when these pour cars played out we upgraded, me to an RX-7 Turbo 2, him to a turbocharged Mark 2. We ragged those babys to death and they lasted 150,000 miles and, I think 5 clutches. LOL. When the '93 RX-7 debuted, our racing ended--the MR2 couldn't keep up, and was discontinued for several years. All in all, my friend and I will never forget two unbelievealbe cars that took our teenage like abuse, repeatedly-- our 85 RX-7 and the 87 MR2. Two-thumbs up.!

Having spent the last few weeks looking over this website and dreaming of having an MR2, I yesterday went out and got a lovely 1988 Mk1 Tbar in Red. I am in love allready. I have one question, mainly directed towards British owners. The previous owner has been putting in Unleaded fuel for the past 6 years with no detremental effects, did these cars have catylitic converters as standard?? Also when in the 87/88 period did all the new changes (speakers...etc) come into place? Thanks for you help, dan

I really like the new mr2, but i also like the mazda rx-7, i am torn between which i should buy, what do u think are some of the advantages this car has over the '95 rx-7,. The mr-2 is spyder is a nice car, well designed, and i am waitning to go test drive one.

This is Great a MR2 Club.
I'm a very happy owner of a 1991 Turbo MR2. I have over 150,000 mile on my baby (odometer stopped @ this mileage). Still lots of power and very responsive, let alone a EYE catcher! It's been very good to me very little problems.I feel like I should be on the "jump up and kick you feet commercial". Hellelujah for a car well designed.
