Wed Sep 12 12:06:46 2001 Valerie (EarthlinkSennaDesigns.s8-0-0-9-0.ar1.CHI1.gblx.net) I have had my MR2 for almost 1 year and really enjoy how it handles and most of all the looks. No matter where I go people look and stare and even say they like the car. This new sports car really turns heads. I only drive it in the summer as it does not handle in the snow, so you must be able to afford to have a second car if you expect to own this one. It is sporty and very afforable.

Mon Sep 17 18:07:15 2001 Michael Urquhart (webcacheM02b.cache.pol.co.uk) Hi, my name's Michael Urquhart from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK. I own a 1990 Mk2 MR2 G Limited which I have owned for over three years. Motoring has been relatively trouble free, with the exclusion of Oxygen Sensor trouble a couple of years ago, which seemed to disolve when I replaced the sensor. Over the last couple of months I have been experiencing the following problem: When accelerating the car is sluggish for about 5 seconds and then springs into action. This happens in most gears, however it is most noticable in gears 1 - 3 When driving at 30 or 40mph the car often judders as if fuel is not getting through to the engine. I have had the car in a couple of garages and have come up with nothing. I have tried using the diagnosis system (E1 - TE1) which results in continuous flashing on the dash. This of course indicates that there is no problem, however this is not the case. Any thoughts, recomendations or local service agents who may be able to help would be appreciated.

Thu Sep 20 14:38:29 2001 JOHN THOMPSON (208.167.100.5) I HAVE A 94MR2 T BLACK T TOP. I'VE PUT 18K INTO THE ENGINE, ALL DONE BY ALTERTED ATMOSPHERE IN GAITHERSBURG MARYLAND. I HAD A GOAL OF GETTING AT LEAST 350HP OFF THE REAR WHEELS. THEY SAID FOR ABOUT 5K THIS COULD BE ACCOMPLISHED. 10K LATER THE BEST THEY COULD DO IS 251HP AT THE REAR WHEELS. THEY DIDN'T CHECK THE ALTANATOR, WHICH WAS ONLY PUTTING OUT 9VLTS, AS A RESULT ONE OF THE PISTON RING LANDS COLAPSED. THEY REBUILT THE ENGINE, 7100.00, AND ACHIEVED 231HP. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING

Mon Sep 24 00:08:26 2001 Phil C (LDIP-T-011-p-65-187.tmns.net.au) I found the site to be most useful. Having owned a 1999 MR2 GT for the passed 2 years the upgrades and hints have been extremely useful. One question has anyone ever converted their MR2 from non-turbo to turbo. If so, i'd like to hear from you. Thanks.
Mon Sep 24 21:36:01 2001 Rick Harrison (cx576338-d.phnx3.az.home.com) I have had my MR2 for two years now and I just recently found out from a friend that my lightly modified 87 (cat-back exhaust,K&N filter, and Dunlop SP8000 195-55 ZR-14s)handles better than the S2000 he test drove and is considering buying. It also in stock form will do 0 to 60 in the low 7s if you hold the revs to 60 mph unlike the magazine test drivers who probably shifted at 58 or 59 mph resulting in the high 8 second 0 to 60 we've all seen and find hard to believe. Lastly I think anybody who thinks that the MK1 MRs don't have torque should go drive a VTEC Honda or VVT-I Toyota that is a car without low end torque. Thank you.

Tue Sep 25 17:25:23 2001 Mike Botchett (spider-wl012.proxy.aol.com) Hello fellow MR2 lovers. I am the proud owner of a 1991 Turbo MR2 and I am looking to restore it. I need the two sun cover shade inserts and a new steering wheel without the airbag, any suggestions? I would like to find a site to buy parts as I live in Nova Scotia (Canada) and parts are extremely scarce. Thanks for the help, and keep up the great work on the site!
Tue Sep 25 20:36:31 2001 Mike Bohanon (spider-tm011.proxy.aol.com) I recently took delivery of a 2001 MR2 Spyder on September 10, 2001. The name embossed on the plastic spare tire cover is: "Midship Runabout". That would appear to be Toyota's intended name (in answer to a question I saw posed in the FAQ's). My last sports car was a 1959 MGA, which I purchased in 1960 (yes, I am an old coot). The Spyder brings back all the MG's sweet memories, but an entirely new set of its own joys. Hail Toyota!

Sun Sep 30 19:13:37 2001 Rodolfo Campos Jr. (dialup-64.154.224.91.Dial1.SanAntonio1.Level3.net) I am the proud owner of a 1991 Mr-2 Turbo. It is now producing 280-hp @ the wheels and has a greddy TD-06 turbo, an HKS metal head gasket, ARP head studs, an Apxei GT-SPEC exhaust and a ported exhaust manifold. It is all controlled by a greddy profec-B boost controller and cooled down by an HKS turbo timer. Future plans include way too many mods to list. My MR.2 will definitely be one of the most awesome mid-engine rockets on the planet.
