I currently own a 1988 MR2 fully loaded in great condition and also
a 2000 toyota MR2 Spyder. The 1988 has been well kept and I personally
feel overall it is a much nicer car than the 2000 Spyder. I am considering
selling the 1988 MR2 and want to find either a die cast model replica
or a kit of the 1988, can you help me?

Hi. MR2ers. Thanks for a very handy site. I am the proud new owner of an '89 NA. Based near Sydney Australia I paid $9000 for mine with 170k kms on the clock. It's in near perfect condition. I've a grin a mile wide. Stay tuned this AW11 will be one of the maddest in the world by the time I've finished my intended mods. Later.

I am a new owner of a 1987 MR2. It has 181859 miles on it. I Love driving it but it has a few problems. First of all it does not stay in fith gear, could this be related to the shifter cable, or could it be in the transmission? If it is the syncronizer, where can I find parts?

I just purchased a 91 non-turbo and was wondering what can be done to make it in to a little screamer. Any kind of bolt ons or engine swaps? I have looked around now for about 3 months and so have have only found minor stuff like a weapon R intake and greddy exhaust. Also, I want either a super charger or a turbo. Would an enjine swap be the cleanest and easiest? If so what engines are a good choice?

my father bought me an mr2 for my 18th birthday.an 85. it was the best car i've ever owned, i regret giving it up, the handling was superb. with only 112 horsepower, that's all it ever needed it was so light. i hope to own a new mr2 by next summer, i can hardly wait to get on the waiting list =).

I recently bought a MR 2 1985 116,000 mis. for $500. I need to make a few repairs such as replace shifter boot, elbow pad and fix hydraulic clutch leak. The car runs good and I'm looking forward to putting it on the road.

FOUND A 1993 TURBO RED WITH TAN LEATHER 74000MI IN JULY 2000 THAT SAT IN A GARAGE FOR 2 YEARS AND MY LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. THIS CAR IS A NATURAL ANTIDEPRESSANT DRIVING HOME FROM WORK WITH THE T-TOPS OFF. THE WIFE THINKS IT IS TOO NOISY AND ROUGH-RIDING WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED:NO COMPITITION FOR THE KEYS!

Unfortunatley I haven't had the privelage of cruisin' an MR2.YET! But one day.I drive a Fiat Bravo (yes that is the smaller one)1.6 16 valve. It's pretty nippy, but nuthin compared to the MR2. Now is it just me or is the MK3 just a bit, well, how could I put this, not as nice as the MK1+2. Sorry to all you MK3 owners, but thats my opinion. MK2 KICKS ASS!

John (spider-mtc-td044.proxy.aol.com)
I must agree. The MK3 MR2 is not even a suitable replacement for what was once a high performance machine. I'll keep fine-tuning my MK2, and I'll see all you MK3 owners later, but only in my rearview mirror!
