I recentley aquired 2 MR2s 85---87 love them,need info on clubs ,parts,for sales,wants etc.I race a TOYOTA STARLET with a 4AGE engine,rear wheel drive,limslip dif.next season the MR2.

I have a 91 MR2 turbo just put a J-spec 225hp motor in it. It is red wT-tops and black leather interior. Manual transmission with a center-force clutch (the clutch has less then 1000 miles on it, I just got it broke in). The motor has about 30K on it. Full custom exhust. The turbo and trottle body are both also the J-spec ones. I have pictures of it all, if you would like to see them just email me. Looking for 7,000 for the car, o.b.o. It is the funest car I have owned, but I need the money. I can also throw in an extra turbo (ct-26, factory turbo) trottle body and other misc. parts, Or if you need just a turbo email me, looking to sell it too.

I Traded with a friend for the 91 Mr2 turbo, about 7 months ago. It had blown head gasket. So I instead of replace that I did the whole engin rebuilt. Finally got it done just 2 weeks ago. And finally just days ago. I had the car at 15pnd of boost and boy what a feeling. Never in my life have I driven a car that has that much potientail. almost any 4 cyl- v6 and some or 34 of v8. I will not have a problem leaving them in the dust. Love It and Enjoying the g-force ride!!!!!!!!!!!!Mod yours for more enjoyment if question e-mail me.Pao

The 2000 model MR2 is not the first convertible version of the MR2. The 91-96
year models had a convertible version overseas. Personally, the 2nd generation MR2 by far beats the new one in looks and performance.

I own a '92 T-Bar, Awesome car! finding a stereo to take the existing toyota one is proving expensive, A solution i did come up with is 2 stereos to go in its place!!! manufacturer is Kenwood the model KRC-579R for tunercassette & slave model number is KDC-D301 CD playerequaliser! this will look great!

Love my '86, but the head gasket's blown. Unfortunately, I found a crack in the exhaust manifold too. Where can I find another one?
The transmission makes a cyclic rubbing noise in left turns and sometimes going straight down the road. Any ideas what's gone wrong? Since I've got the head apart, I'll probably drop the transmission too.

Well since i just got a 1986 MR2 4age aw11, i suppose i want to see more pictures of the Mk1 MR2 and a lot more information, including where to get body kits, performance parts and all that good stuff, i really like this site i think it keeps the MR2 world alive, hopefully everyone will realize that the MR2 is one of the best cars in the world.

My comments aren't really comments on this particular vehicle owned, but more of and inquiry. I am a previous owner of 2 mr2's and have had wonderful experiences with them. I recently found one on a car lot. 88' mr2 supercharged version. t-tops and leather seats. my opinion of the car is very high and almost sold my truck that day to have it. My question for you is that i have heard stories about the supercharged engines and performances through the years. Mostly about premature failures to the supercharger system and component failure which has made me a little leary about furthering my queiry on the vehicle to the dealer. Your opinion on the "stories" would be helpful. Also, I have mechanical experience with vehicles and items to inspect for before any car should be bought,but if there is anything specific or different that i should really look for at this car before getting serious about purchasing it, I would really appreciate the tips and info. Your site was very inform!
