Just bought a red 1987 MR2 hardtop with just 54,600 miles on it. Used Car dealer says it was garage kept and it sure looks it, it's immaculate. Paint, trim, interior, front and rear trunks all in great shape. Had my buddy who is a professional body man go over the car and everything checks out. Great car, I'm turning 40 in October and I joke with my friends and family that I got it just in time for my mid-life crisis.

We have just purchased a 1994 MR2 G Limited automatic. Does anybody have any advice on how to remove the radio,as it seems to be secured by screws? What panels or covers do I have to remove to gain access?

I have an "86 MR2 and it needs a new left front fender and front bumper cover. My insurande says it's not worth the repair cost ($1800) and I should give it to them for $2456.65. I'm upset. Ed

Hi, proud owner of 1986 na, black. Thanks for this great site - good entertainment and resource. My car was broken into last night - no real damage, only took my mag light. The thief tore loose the armrest behind the shifter - what were they expecting to find? I think the #$%@@ forced the lock during the day. So don't keep important stuff in your car!

Hello y'all! What can I say? I'm an MR2 Supercharged FREAK! I have three: a white 88 SC, fully loaded wleather, with about 180,000 miles (I'm the original owner of this one); another white 88 SC wblue cloth interior and 114,000 miles (my daily driver); and a MINT --and stock-- red 89 SC wLESS THAN SEVEN THOUSAND MILES on it!! Probably the lowest mileage example in the world (unless there's one with lower mileage in the Toyota museum). This car is unbelievable, like entering a time warp whenever I sit in it. It still smells new and the original tires still have those little "new tire" paint dots on them. I hate to even touch this one, but I have to put on a few miles here and there to keep everything healthy. I love these cars!

Hello MR2 owners!! I brought my 2 eight months ago now. It's a black turbo 91 model with mirror tints. Its the 4th car I have owned in four years and is the best and most reliable one of them all. I also have 3 mates that own them aswell (2 turbos, 1 non) and they also agree that the 2 IS THE BEST!!

Just picked up my first MR2 last evening. An '85 with a dented left front fender (something fell over on it while parked). The motor had 181 miles on it when I started driving it - new pistons, bearings, oil pump, clutch, etc. So, I'm hoping for years of good service. I need lots of FAQ!

Right now I am 18 and I have had two Toyota's and I sold them both to get an 1989 SuperCharged MR2 with 80,000 miles. But it smokes a lot, someone just told me to put motor treatment. I think its the valves. If anyone has any advice I would be very thankful.

I just purchased a 1991 MR2 (non-turbo). I love the little thing. It's great to drive. I do have one thing on this site that I have to ask about. On the paint code page it states that Signal Yellow (paint code 567) was only available on turbo cars in 91. My car is signal yellow, has that code on the body tag and is not a turbo. Does anyone know anything about this?
Anyway, I plan on enjoying this car for a LONG time.

i have a 1986 mark I type mr2. It is my first car that i have owned and i absolutely love it. It is white, adn has 160 thous. miles on it. The paint is in mint condition. I love the car to death, and i was wondering if anyone knew if any one knows if they make a body kit for the mark I model.

My husband had been looking for a used MR2 for about two years. Finally, he saw one in a classified ad on a Saturday recently. By Saturday afternoon, he was the proud owner but somehow couldn't live with having a white one. On Monday, he saw another ad for one which was black. I convinced him to check out the black one and to sell the first one. Unfortunately, I took the white one to work and immediately fell in love with it. Guess what? We are now the proud owners of a 1985 white MR2 and a 1986 black MR2!! I now know why he spent two years watching for an ad. What a comfortable exciting ride!!
