Mileage: 103,000 miles
I bought my MR-2 just three months ago, in mid-December of 96. It had right
at 100,000 miles on it. The guy I bought it from was kind of car crazy and
had done a really good job taking care of it. He even had the turbo rebuilt
and balanced before I purchased it. When I bought it the only modifications
done were: 93 MR-2 15" rims, Eibach lowering springs, and Tokico 5-way
adjustable shocks. Since then I have installed a K&N FIPK intake system, a
Greddy Turbo Timer, a Greddy Profec (fuzzy logic boost controller), a
Valentine One radar detector with concealed display unit, and a Alpine head
unit pumping stock speakers. I went to a local exhaust shop and had a custom
straight through exhaust put on and took of one cat and gutted the other (no
emmisions standards here:-). Right now I'm running .8 bar of boost(about
12 psi), in the future I plan to get the bottom end bored and stroked, a new
greddy intercooler, a FCD, a VPC, a new fuel regulator, bigger injectors, a
turbo upgrade, and maybe, just maybe a 40 shot of nitrous that cuts out as the
boost comes on. I'm sure along the way I'll run into other things that I'll
need (like a new clutch maybe) but thats half the fun of doing it yourself.
If anybody has any good suggestions for modifications, I'd love to hear them.
Just E-mail me.
