Yes, that's not a mistake, only 24K. I bought it from a lady in downtown
Chicago who never drove it, except on weekends. When I got it in Jan 95
she only had 13K. As a poor college student who was happy to just get a
car, I was thrilled to come across Mr.2. Since the car was strangely
equipped with power everything, but no spoiler or rear window wind
deflector, both HAD to be acquired. A minor dent and passenger window lift
also needed fixing. Since the I've put in a Sony detatchable face CD head
unit, Polk Audio speakers, Bel laser/radar and a Clifford alarm system.
I also switched over to Mobil1 synthetic oil,got a new exhaust and I threw
in a set of SplitFire plugs, although I don't know if they really do
anything. This summer plans include: Fittipaldi 3 spoke rims w/ Dunlop
rubber, K&N Filtercharger( I keep forgetting ), Kicker or RF subwoofers,
strut tower braces and possibly a Jacob's ignition system. Sometime soon
TRD headers and an ICON computer (still not sure) are in the works.
Suspension is adequate for now, but 112 hp is still my #1 concern.
All said, I love this car. For someone who used to swear by American
muscle, I've never ceased to be amazed by this machine. You can run it to
redline, slam it into a turn and it'll keep coming back for more. It's
comfortable, well assembled, years ahead of it's time and Toyota reliable.
It's too bad that pesky dollar to yen thing and consumer tastes killed it.
we'll all miss it. When I finally graduate, there's a bright yellow MkII
with my name in it.
On a side note, my Dad owns an 86 Fiero GT, which I used to adore. After
driving the two back to back, the poor old Fiero now feels like a mini
Buick, while Mr.2 feels like it was carved out of a single piece of steel.
Every time the Pontiac is in the shop I love to remind Dad who has the
better car, with fewer miles too!
