Every time I saw an MKII on the road, I would nearly give myself whiplash trying to catch a glimpse of it whizzing past. I had to have one, but we were about to have a baby and my daily commute totalled 80 miles. NO, I told myself again and again, it just isn't practical. So I bought a used Mazda Protege sedan, 40 mpg, room for baby in the back, practical; UUGH! 2 months later, this yellow MKII was staring at me from the front row of a Toyota dealer, mocking me in my 4-door commuter mobile. I test drove it; it was an automatic, yet it still jumped and growled. SCREW PRACTICAL!!! And the baby? Well, he can have it 16 years from now, when it will still be one of the best looking cars on the road!
