My MR2 Extras!
-
SONY mobileES CD player with steering column mounted rotary control.
(Much better than a remote control, and it blends with the steering
column nicely.)
-
Security system with radar scanner.
-
Body-colored front air-dam, side and rear skirts.
-
Yokohama AVS Intermediate on the rear. (The AVS handles sharp and looks 'racey' too.) Anybody tried Michelin MXX3?
My MR2 Problems
-
The T-Tops leak. BUT, in our always sun-shine Southern California, it still
acceptable. HOWEVER, I did replace all the seals and the leaking problem
seems to be fixed (when I wash my car). THEN, the doors don't close easily
because of the new seals; THOUGH, after half a year, they close tightly now!
Wew!
-
Once a while, my accelerator gets stuck a little bit and the accelerator doesn't
go down smoothly when I step on it. The reason was that the throttle body was
dirty and needed cleaning (50 bucks!) But, the problem came back after 3
months, and I couldn't believe that I need to clean the throttle body every
3 months. I tried to use Chevron gasoline everytime instead of Shell, and
happily, the problem just goes away. I wonder if this is it???
My Stories with MR2
-
I had a trip to Las Vegas last year on the openning of the Hard Rock Hotel.
Can you see me?
-
There was a time after I made a kind of sharp turn, my friend said, "Wow, that
was easy, can you do that again!" Isn't it nice.
-
I remember back in 89, a dull afternoon in Hong Kong, I saw 2 black cars
driving with the test car license plate near a Toyota dealer. My first
reaction was that they are too futuristic and too round. After couple of
months, I found out that they were the MR2 and the Celica. That was my first
sight of an MR2, and that wasn't a love at first sight, as usual.
My Other Loves
-
Violet M3. (Well, a MR2 Turbo beat it, as reported on April issue of
Road & Track, yeah!)
-
Volvo T-5R Wagon. (The smoke rims look like nothing else. It's gotta be a wagon, did you see them in BTCC!)
-
Silverish grey RX-7.
-
Porsche 968 cabrio. (How can they discontinue this car. Well, MR2 is discontinued too.)
-
The legendary Carrera. I like the 4S.
-
355 spider.
-
Bentley Turbo R.
-
Lamborghini Diablo.
-
Dino 246. (I always say MR2 is the contemporary verison of a Dino 246, anyone
agree?)
-
BMW 3.0CS.
See you later.
