In 1987 I acquired a red MR2 N/A (Emma 1) with sunroof and air and enjoyed her
for 4 years. In late 1994 I was missing having a sports car (I had a 4-Runner
at the time) and spotted a 1991 MR2 at the local Toyota dealership which was
love at first sight. Emma 2 had a full body kit, lowered suspension, 16" Auscar
mags, a rorty Remus exhaust and loaded with many other goodies, including engine

Not long after, I joined the MR2 Owners Club of Australia to avail myself of
discounts, advanced driving courses and a chance to let it all out on race
tracks like Eastern Creek, Wakefield Park and Oran Park. I am now on the
committee and enjoy organising my annual run to Bathurst and driving in other
club events.
I have recently started to upgrade the interior with a Momo "Race" steering wheel,
a 2 DIN Alpine head unit, and black leather seats. Meguiars car care products keep
the exterior shining like new, to the extent that Emma 2 has won a number of
trophies at Show & Shine days. She has also featured in Fast Fours & Rotaries magazine.
I have most of the road test reports ever written on the MR2, as well as other
mid-engined sports and exotic cars. I feel I am a real MR2 enthusiast (as others
also tell me), not so much on the technical side but more on the driving side.
Maybe its an obsession now. I intend to keep "my baby" as a classic and unique
sports car to admire and receive an immense amount of pleasure from for many
years to come.
