Bought a red Mk1 when they first came onto the market. 
Traded up to a red Mk1 Supercharged as soon as they arrived, 
wow, what a car that was. It would humiliate anything on downtown streets. 
We called it our Urban Guerrilla. 
I saw the Mk2 Turbo in Jan/Feb of 1990, at the Toronto Auto Show and ordered it.
Picked it up in May of that year, leather, T bar, full stereo, air, power 
everything and bright yellow. Drove it down to Florida just to run it in and 
have been grinning from ear-to-ear ever since. 
I want to drive this thing forever, though I do wish I still had my Mk1
Supercharged tucked away somewhere as well.
