Got a MR2-GT Japanese Version - stock as a rock.
GT stands for "Got Turbo"
Current mods :-
- very high flow cat
- 3inch mendrel bend exhaust pipes, but stock muffler
- Sony 2 din sound system.
future mods :-
- 5th injector for increase fuelling and boost
- water and methonol injection into the intake pipe
- a boost gauge
- upgrade to Japanese Supra brakes or cross drill standard ones??
- manual boost controller(electronic ones are too expensive)
- water spray to the face of the intercooler
- 17" rims and low profile rubbers
- mid lowering job
- change rear tail lights to 94+ model
All these mods are going to be done by me, except for the lowering job.
I am planning to do everything on the cheap. I don't beleive in paying
someone to do something simple things like adding a manual boost controller for
(get the f**k out of here) $250.00. I can make one up for less then $50.00.
I am still thinking of a way of activating the water/methonol injection
setup. Currently the easiest way is by using a micro switch which activate
the 5th injector, water/methonol injectors and water to intercooler spray
when you mash the go pedal. If there is a better or neater solution can
someone email me details. Maybe a vacuumm switch which goes on when the boost
start to rise.
PS : if anyone doing the timing belt, either with Toyota or like me do it by yourself,
make sure you change the cam seals (about $15.00 each). Since
this is where oil will start to leak and leak onto the timing belt. Which
will slowly eat away at your belt.
