I'm (Matt) 31 years old and fly aeroplanes for a living, whilst Rebecca is 28
and works for a Pharmaceutical Broker.
I had been dreaming of owning an MR2 ever since the MK11's came old in 1990,
as I figured this was as close as I'd get to a Ferrari. ( But I've realised
who needs a Ferrari, Right !! ).
For our 4th wedding anniversary, Rebecca surprised me by renting a 1995 Bathurst
Model MR2 for a day. It was a bright Yellow T-Top, the weather was perfect and WE
were BOTH hooked on MR2's.
It took us 3 months of searching newspapers and car yards to find the right car
at the right price.
We are now the proud owners of a WHITE Mark 2, born May 1991 with the 2.0 litre
3S-GE, normally aspirated engine and a 5 speed manual gearbox.
Our MR2 is stock standard at present except for rewiring the driving lights to
operate with the parking (running) lights.
Future modifications (improvements ?) may include:
Suspension Upgrade ( Springs, Strut Inserts, Sway Bars, Strut Bars, Bushes )
Tire / Wheel Upgrade ( 15" or 16" )
Exhaust / Intake Upgrade
Air Conditioning ?
But its pretty difficult to improve on a car that is near perfect !!
We now try to avoid freeways and straight roads, but instead look for the scenic
routes, with heaps of bends and flowing curves to exploit our cars' true abilities.
