Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
Car: 1987, MkI, Red
Mileage: 65,000 miles
I recently purchased my MR2 (June 1996). It has t-tops, leather, power
package, spoiler package, 8 speaker stereo system, custom designed car
cover, factory alarm, keyless entry, 200 watt sub behind passenger's
seat, alpine cd head unit, pirelli p-600's, ansa tip exhaust with a
resonator and no muffler.
The car is in great shape. Outside of a couple of small tears in the
leather and a couple of squeaks, it is in remarkable condition. The
stereo is pretty kickin', far from comp. quality, but much better than
average.
I recently put a light in the trunk. Kind of ironic to light a space
that small, but it needed some.
I am always looking for upgrades. I am probably going to get a momo
shift knob. The original one's leather dried and cracked and I pulled
it off and discovered an inexpensive, but otherwise perfectly usable
shift knob.
I spent a good deal of money replacing all the belts and fluids when I
first got the car and though I didn't much like handing over the money,
but I feel good cuz the car seems happier. I just replaced the battery
too, but hey it's an old car and was running with a 6 year old battery.
Happy Motoring.
