Great Car !!!
Little bit low on power ( or more accurately, torque ) but overall a great
combination of power and balance, especially above 6 000 rpm in 2nd or 3rd
gear. There is no better way to spend a day than the mountain range between
Rathdowney and Woodenbong on the Qld-NSW border. The road is about 20 km of
2nd gear squirts up to 100-110kph, then hard on the brakes to whip about a
120 - 180 degree on-camber corner, with the back just starting to break
loose and step sideways under power and then flat out in 2nd to do it all
over again - the whole way up and down the mountain range. The best part ?
- its totally legal as the road is posted at 100 kph.
Complaints ? - very few. The front end tends to get a bit light about
190-200kph, engine note quite coarse in the Mk II Series 3 update - better
in the Series 2, new sets of rear tyres every 16-26 000 km.
Overall a great car - pity we didn't get the Turbo.
