I bought this car in Jan 1997 (second owner). I had hassle
straight away when the police spotted some irregularity with my
plates/tax disc.

To cut a long story short, the car had had the chassis number
wrongly registered with the DVLC right from day 1. It's possible this
was a typo on the part of the operator entering the info, but when I
came to buy it, various bits of paperwork (previous MOT's, Tax disc,
plates on the car, log book etc) had faulty information.

I drove the car away from the dealer with plates which
belonged to another MR2 with a slightly different chassis number, it's
all sorted now, but if K335 FPA is out there, then I have a couple of
spare plates you may like to have - they're no use to me now ;-)

I've had Pirelli PZero Assymetric tyres put on the rear
wheels. They're expensive, but grip the road like suction pads on
glass. When it comes round to renewing the front tyres, I'll almost
certainly go for the PZero Directionals to complete the PZero system.

I've also had the audio system re-wired. The car had the
original system with eight speakers (two tweeters, two front, two rear
and two sub woofers below/behind each seat) and the amplifiers
seperated from the headset. As far as I was concerened, this meant
that installing my Kenwood system myself was a no-no. So, the system
had to be rewired to take a headset with the amp all in one unit,
bypassing the existing amps.

This was a pain - apparantly the MR2 and some jaguars are the
only factory spec cars to have this problem - anyone else??

Anyway, with system installed with 10 disc changer - total
rewiring/fitting cost 65 pounds + VAT, and - it's worth every damn
penny - it just sounds too cool for words. I'm very impressed indeed.

The whole car is just a fantastic piece of kit - a great
driving experience - I go off on long drives at night - something I
haven't done since I first passed my test and bought my first car.
