The Car:
5 speed, T-bar, A/C, Cruise, Pwr. windows, Pwr. door locks, Pwr. outside
mirrors, Black leather, Aero package, 14" alloys, P205/60/R14 tires,
3 piece front mask.
Modifications:
Pioneer headunit, Pioneer 12-disc cd changer, Blaupunkt 4 channel amp.,
LA Sound 120 watt amp., 4" Alpine (in front), 3.5" Clarion (in rear),
factory 4" sub. under drivers seat, Kicker Solobaric 8" sub. in custom
sealed enclosure between seats (I had to remove console; box has same
shape), high-end alarm with microwave field, tinted glass (dark smoke
on sides/front, medium smoke on back/tops).
Complaints:
I have about a 1" square at my r/r mudflap where the paint is bubbled.
I took the flap off only to find the slow start of rust. It is
unnoticable though. The oil filter is placed is such a poor position;
when unscrewing it, oil drips on the exhaust. Oil burns off it,
causing smoke and bad odors for a day or two. I have slight squeaks
where my windows join to the tops. The paint in the front end looks
great, but if you look closely, you can see cracks. I have a slight
lifter problem, 1 is sticking; though it causes no harm, I hear that
"ta-ta-ta" sound a little.
Biography:
I am a student at the University of Connecticut, majoring in math, and
a Cadet in the Air Force ROTC. I am a "car buff". My favorites are BMW's
(I previously owned a 530i and 320i), but I love my MR2.
The car is in great condition. I have been using Mobil 15w-40 and Fram oil
filters, usually changing it at 2.3K.
