Subject: MR2 Scavenger hunt and U of I car club cruise in night
Hey everyone,
The local car club at my university (Illinois) is taking a big step
up from a "garage consortium" to a real car club. We have decided to have a
cruise-in night on Saturday the 3rd of May, from 7 to 9pm at a local parking
lot in Champaign, IL. For all who are interested, please come by and show
off your wheels... Email me for more information. Everyone is welcome!!!
I am planning on having a wild scavenger hunt taking the better
part of a day and probably more than a tank of gas... Entry fee is a nominal
$5, to benefit the club and cover the prizes. The drivers are given a
sealed envelope to open exactly at 12 noon... Then you have til 4pm to find
all the items on the list. Details from there are skecthy but include a ~35
mile radius, a good selection of items to choose from and a good time.
Ideal situation would be to have a driver and a navigator, but I am sure
that there will be many single person cars, so you are encouraged to come if
you are alone or if you have someone with you.
The envelope contains a long list of different items with rough
locations (and their point values), some maps and whatever else you need to
complete the course.
Winners will be determined by point totals, corresponding to the
predetermined value of the items that they picked up and brought back.
Prizes are as of yet undetermined but probably will not be large cash
awards. However, comraderie and bragging rights will be endowed liberally.
(Yes, you will get something when you win I just don't know what)
To those who are interested, please let me know. I look forward to a
day of fun and car related talk.
