Open the drivers side door, (US), and just above the door lock
loop, you will see the certification label.

The number on the lower left side of the label is
the axle code.

Quote from the manual:

If the last digit of the axle code is a "3" or a "5" then
your vehicle has a limited slip differential.

The code starts like this: A/TM:-

My code reads: A/TM:-735/E153
                       ^
                       +--------- the last digit is "5"

So that's the way you tell.

The second part of the code is the transmission code:

 S51  = Automatic transmission
 E153 = Manual transmission

Hope that helps.

From: "Kostas G. D. Chryssos Ph.D." (sv1bt@compulink.gr) Just to say hallo. By the way I looked at the data on the differentials, about the codes etc and something does not seem right there. The E153 is mentioned as a two planet/LSD unit. It is for sure a four planet one and may-or-not be an LSD (the 91' T has a non-LSD E153 unit). Should that info be corrected?
