Subject: ANNOUNCE TWO NORTHEAST MR2 OWNER'S GATHERINGS

Hi All,
	I just spoke to Brian Palmer last night, and we agreed on two dates
for our next Northeast MR2 Owners Get-togethers. Previously, we met in lower
NY at the Harriman train station and then had a nice spirited drive through
the state park, and a nice dinner.  We have decided to have a change of pace
for the next two get-togethers.  
	To allow MR2 owners to really test their cars and their driving
skill, to do it safely, and to have a blast in the process, we have decided 
to hold the next two MR2 get-togethers at some excellent area Autocrosses.  
That way, we can spend the morning and early part of the afternoon 
autocrossing, with plenty of time to discuss our MR2's during that time, and
then we can finish off the afternoon with a nice dinner and discussion like
we usually do.
	The first get-together will be an informal one since it's on sort of
short notice and we realize that some can't make it unless they have longer
advance notice.  It will be on SATURDAY, APRIL 19TH AT RACEWAY PARK IN
ENGLISHTOWN, NJ.  The Northern NJ Region SCCA will be holding its first
autocross of the season there, and I speak from attending two autocrosses
there last year, that they hold the BEST autocrosses in the area that I've
attended, and I've been attending autocrosses for about 4 years now in
three states. You will have fun, I guarantee it. :-)  Raceway Park is
located around the area of exit 9 off the NJ Turnpike (rt 95).  I will post
full directions within a day or two once I have them confirmed.  There are
also some nice restaurants in the area that we can go to afterwards.  It's a
beautiful area.  And we will be autocrossing on some brand new pavement that
they recently put down, so it will be very smooth (heck, it was supersmooth
last year).  For those of you who haven't attended an autocross before,
everyone is very friendly and helpful, and we'll all help you to get
acquainted with autocrossing and how much fun it can be.  Of course, if you
just feel like watching the first time, you're welcome to do so, but most
see the courses and they can't resist trying it. :-)  
	The next, more formal MR2 Get-together we would like to hold will be 
a weekend event on MAY 10TH AND 11TH AT POCONO INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY IN 
POCONO, PENNSYLVANIA.  NNJR SCCA (same club) will be holding a two day event
there which will include autocrossing (solo II), track racing (Solo I), and
other events as well.  As most of you may know, this is where the MR2 owners
gathering was held in 1994, when Toyota still sponsored an MR2 club.  We
will post more details, take some ideas from some of you, and post full
directions once they are confirmed.  This should be an incredible event as
well.
