Loren and others interested,

  The Pittsburgh picnic has been cancelled.  Here are the details on the
September 10th MR2 Owners Club - NE (US) Chapter meet at Watkins Glen.  This is
the weekend of the Formula 1 Vintage reunion. All types of vintage race cars
from all over the US and Canada show up for this event.  In the past it has had
an especially strong showing of Can Am cars.  It is definitely worth going to
and our event will hopefully make it even better.  The Porsche club also has a
meet there for this Vintage event.  We are planning to meet on the grassy area
inside of Turn 1 by the paddock area (a map of Watkins Glen is available on the
WW Web under Yahoo/Autos/Racing/Tracks/US).  I tried to get the Glen officials
to let us do a parade lap, but they axed the idea and said MR2's aren't old
enough to classify as vintage.  Tickets to get into the track are $25 each.
Food is available at the track, in local restaurants, or you can bring a
cooler, grill or whatever.   For those planning on spending the night or
weekend, accomodations include hotels in Geneva or Ithaca (the ones in Watkins
Glen are guaranteed to be booked), bed and breakfast places (Geneva on the Lake
is supposedly very nice), or you can camp at the track or at Watkins Glen State
Park.  Other attractions include an awesome hiking gorge at Watkins Glen State
Park, Wine tours, and Seneca Lake.

To get there:  Watkins Glen is located on Rt 14 which connects into Rt 17
(Corning/Binghampton) from the south and from Rt90 (NY state Thruway) from the
North.  Once into the town follow the signs (and the thousands of other cars)
up the hill to the track.

  Races start around 10:00,  I usually get there around 9:00.
If you plan on attending or have any questions, please send me a note.  Also if
you want to receive information from the club please send me your mailing
address so I can mail it out.  I would like to limit it to people in the North
East US, because I'm paying for this myself and the club member list is
