This has more to do with all the deaths and accidents related to street racing increasing over the last few years, and also because of all the fast n furious type movies. I got another ticket where 2 cops pulled me over and gave me a ticket for doing 125mph at 3am (on my way back to austin from work in houston). They DID NOT clock me on a radar gun but said that a helicopter was pacing me a few miles back. The entire time i had my cruise control set on 80 in a 70mph zone. I knwo your pains in this area. But is has NOTHING to do with the kids that are distastefully modifying their cars. It has to do with the increasing accidents, deaths, and injuries due to streetracing

And who are the majority of people dyingin streetracing accidents? Around here, it's about 30-50% civics, 20% integras, and 20% mustangs. Which are the cars you see untastefully modded. I have personally seen about 6-7 fatal accidents caused by street racing in the past 2 years due to my driving habits, and all but one were civics, and at least 3 of them had those stupid wings you get at autozone or whatever laying on the ground bent up like a pretzel. One was orange with blue stripes too, really tasteful there. These kids think that because they put a wing and an exhaust ont heir car, it's safe at 100mph. Civics don't do well at that speed. Cops lump me in with the ugly cars because they drive about as nice as their cars look. Around here Police hear a loud exhaust and they hop behind you and run your plates. My good friend has been pulled over I can't tell you how many times in the past 2 years. He has gotten out of all but two of the tickets because he was doing nothing wrong. Not speeding, not driving badly, nothing. (he drives a bit like a grandma accually, unless at the track) He used to own my car, and cops flew to him like flies. He had to challenge a ticket or two in court, but he got off. The sad reality is that Most MR2 drivers drive like grandmas on the street relitive to the integra/civic boys because they are responsible enough to own a real car, and therefore don't do anything bad enough to get tickets, but I bet we all get our fair share of tickets for moving with the speed of traffic.
4 cars on the road going 60 in a 55, lets pull over the one with the wing/exhaust/anything not stock. That's the thought process of the police around here. (I keep saying around here because I don't want you to think I'm speaking for all the police in the world)
These are all rough estimates I'm trying my best not to over exagerate, but I really do drive a lot, and I really see a lot of accidents. I see about 1 dead person a month, and it makes me sad.
