Weasy,
I have a couple reasons for my wanting to switch. The biggest is that I've done a turbo 4a before, and while it was fun, it seemed too easy. I bought all the stuff to build my ultimate gte, but I dunno, it seems like I should be doing something different this next time around. Also, I've driven a v6 mk2, and it was fast enough to satisfy me, and it was an NA (Thanks Seth!). I guess part of it is that I want to do something different too. I've never met a mk1 v6'er either, so I thought I'd try to be the first in the area. That, and I've always wanted to make a twin turbo, but the 4a is not exactly an ideal candidate for that. I also figure that what I want to do with the body (sortof a Renault 5 Turbo rear end) would match well with the kind of rubber required to keep that much torque and power in check. I've been coming up with all sorts of designs that I really want to try. Also, now that I got my WRX, I can sacrifice the mr2 to the lift for long periods of time. Also, reliability is not as critical as I have a new car to drive around, and I can save the MR2 for track days and meets.

Best guess about the weight? Um... raw block is like #75, crank is about #30, head is about #30... umm... not sure what else. I know that I can't pick up an assembled long block by myself, but I can pick up a short block. All the accessories are heavy too...
