Make sure that you take your time and have a plan when you dig into it. Label any wiring harness tails you take off as that will save you time when you reassemble. Same with coolant lines etc.
Another trick that you may or may not be aware of is baggy all bolts you take off the engine and label the bag with where they came from. Taking these steps will save you loads and loads of time.
Have a bag of zip ties handy. They are invaluable for keeping shit that you can't just remove from the car out of your way. If you want to make damn sure that you don't turn the cams when you take the timing belt off zip tie the cam gear to something.
