The stock head gasket is 1.0mm, the TRD is .8mm, and the TTe that we stock and sell is 1.2mm.

If you are having your mating surfaces machined, they are removing some material from both surfaces. Running the TRD would increase static compression and change combustion chamber geometry, making the engine more prone to detonation.

The TTe, being .2mm thicker than stock, replaces the thickness that was removed from the mating surfaces, restoring you to the proper deck height, with no change in compression.

If you are installing forged pistons during your rebuild I would recommend the TTe head gasket, along with a set of ARP head studs.
