wouldn't be terribly effective imo since each widebody has much more variation than oem fenders

Widebody flush starting point is roughly 8.5 +20 front and 10 +20 rear.
You can use the calculator to compare your planned wheels against that, but I definitely suggest taking measurements from whatever wheels you have at the moment to make sure that's close enough for your installed kit. A little metal to tire contact isn't too bad on a small scale compared to tire to fiberglass contact ........ goodbye fender.
