Thats how i did it for my celica board. Works great.
And of course theres a mod you can do to your template on vbulletin that will tell you whos active in chat if anybody and what rooms are currently active.

It's an integrated install, and we have the Who's in Chat mod enabled on the Forum home page (not the main page).
