starter help please

Hi,

Looks like the starter's cratered on my silvertop. I'd like to put a brand new one in, rather than a used one.

Can anyone tell me if the starter is the same for the 16V as the 20v? Is there a domestically available one if it's not? I've been searching all over the 'net for a couple days now and can't find anything useful.

Thanks!

Ben

P.S. Does anyone know of anywhere that has a listing of what's available domestically for the 20Vs and what it's sold as?

I'd first try replacing your starter contacts. You should be able to pick them up for less than $5. Once your start is out, it's only a matter of 10 to 20 minutes to put them in. It's the solution to most Toyota starter issues.

If you want a replacement starter, you should be able to use one from any 7afe corolla or celica.

You are basically just looking for the starter type that mounted on the intake side of the motor.
