O2

ok as some of you know i am have put a 20V black top into my AW11, i have just put a new exhaust on and i need a new oxygen sensor. being in australia i cant find a part number. so, if anyone could give me an aftermarket part number then that would be gr8 or if they could just tell me and engine that would have the same O2, again that would be gr8.

thanks

If you want a quick fix, just use your original 1wire sensor. The blacktop ecu doesn't have a ground for the o2 signal, so that wire is just grounded into the harness on one of the main ecu ground wires. The only difference with a 1 wire is that it grounds to the exhaust instead of the head, and, of course, there is no heater element.

Now, you will still get code 21 for lack of a heater element, but the ecu still seems to accept the signal.

If you want to use a normal 4wire o2, a previa or 4runner o2 works fine. Both are the flange mounting type. If you want a screw-in type, late nineties camrys work too. The wire order for all these sensors are the same. At most, you'd have to trim some of the keyways on the o2's plug.
